On the streets of Chelyabinsk, you can often meet stately young military men. In a beautiful, blue sky, with purposeful faces. The winged dream comes to life in the happy eyes of cadets who entered the Chelyabinsk Military Aviation Institute navigators. Ahead of them is painstaking study, long hours of training on simulators, extreme parachuting and the thrilling delight of the first training flights.
So gradually the day is approaching step by step, when the certified military navigators independently coordinate their first air routes in the vast Russian sky. They will also pave their way over Chelyabinsk, a patient city, but not used to the noisy flights of military training aircraft.
Institute for Navigators
Chelyabinsk citizens call the military institute within the city limits CHVVAKUSH. That was the name of the legendary institution. The history of the Higher Aviation Red Banner School began in 1936. During this time, in the Chelyabinsk flight, the oldest of these educational institutions, many famous pilots were trained for the air force.
Note. The Chelyabinsk Military Aviation Institute of Navigators is the only university of its kind that conducts training for navigators and engineers of the Air Force. Here is the training of officers, specialists in the field of airspace control and combat control.
From the history of aeronautics: the profession of a navigator
At different times, air navigation professionals were called differently: observer pilots, flagships, navigators. According to reference data, the official date of the profession's birth is March 24, 1916. This is the time of the creation of the CANS. The main objective of the Central Air Navigation Station was air surveillance, as well as the invention and installation of precision on-board instruments. Then came the profession of an observer pilot. In connection with the acquisition by the aviation of a military orientation, experts began to be called arrow-bombers. Navigators also appeared in the cockpits of combat crews at the beginning of the war against fascism.
