Setting the parking brake on the VAZ-2114 - step by step instructions
Replacing the rear brake pads requires adjusting the parking brake. To do this, we need two keys "13". Adjustment is made on the cable equalizer, which is hidden under the "bank" of the muffler. So, we unscrew the locknut with one key, and with the other - we fix the bolt from turning. Then we turn the nut in one direction or another (depending on what we need - tighten or loosen the cable). When screwing, the parking brake and, accordingly, the cable decreases.
What should be the norm? When setting up, follow the course of the parking brake lever. The pads should be locked after 3-4 clicks. Maximum 6 clicks allowed. All that is greater is evidence of increased leverage. In this case, the machine should be kept on a slope of 16 degrees.
Also watch the rotation of the wheels. They should move freely from the strength of the arms in a suspended state. If they rub on new pads, then the handbrake is pulled too tight.
