Solving the problem: the wireless mouse does not work

Today, personal computers are available in almost every home. And where there is a computer, there is almost always a mouse and keyboard. Wired "rodents" are still more widespread, but more and more often we are faced with their wireless counterparts, which are ideal for use not only for laptops, but also for personal computers.

Wireless mice are mobile and convenient. If you have a laptop, then working with them is much easier. For presentations, the wireless mouse will be indispensable, because you will have the opportunity to control the computer from a distance. But there are problems when the wireless mouse does not work. And the wired model is not always at hand. Of course, you should always have spare batteries. And also it will not be amiss to stock up with two mice: wired and wireless. We will try to figure out why the wireless mouse does not work and how to solve this problem.

The first problem. The batteries are low

First of all, make sure that your batteries do not run out of batteries. The wireless mouse and keyboard require AA batteries as power. Check them for performance. Often, even new batteries can not ensure proper operation.

The second problem. Port does not work

If you have a problem with the mouse, for example, the a4tech or Microsoft wireless mouse does not work, make sure that the USB mouse is connected to the appropriate port on the computer. Typically, a wireless mouse comes with a small device that connects to a computer and transmits a signal. Check that the device is connected correctly and try connecting it to another USB on your computer. Your USB port may not work.

The third problem. Program hung

If your wireless mouse doesnโ€™t work, the program or the computer itself may just freeze. Try first to re-synchronize the mouse with the receiver. For Microsoft devices, for this, there is a special small button below. Place the device near the receiver, other wireless devices must be removed on a long distance. On the signal receiver, press the button and make sure that the indicator starts flashing. If a dialog box appears on the computer monitor as a result , then you need to follow the instructions in it.

If the window does not appear, click on the "Connection" button at the bottom of the mouse. If the indicator lights up green without blinking, the device synchronization was successful.

If this action does not help, just restart your computer. Maybe the software was just broken.

The fourth problem. Software update required

If your wireless mouse requires specific software, you may need to update it. For example, you can download software for Microsoft devices on the official website.

The fifth problem. The lens is dirty

If your wireless mouse is still not working, the lens may be dirty. To clean it, you must perform the following steps:

  • wipe the bottom of the "rodent" with a dry cloth;
  • remove dust from the lens, blow through the lens with dry air several times;
  • gently wipe the lens with a cotton swab.

The sixth problem. Malfunctioning mouse

If after all the steps the wireless mouse still does not work, it is most likely a malfunction. You can check this on another computer. In this case, you can take the device to a service center, where experts will probably tell you why the breakdown occurred, or buy a new mouse. Most often, the second method is much simpler, because you will save time, and your work on the computer will not be suspended. Moreover, wireless โ€œrodentsโ€ cost a little.
