The boost controller is a special device that controls the boost on a turbocharged ICE. What is noteworthy, after setting the required values โ€‹โ€‹of the turbine revolution, the driver can return everything at any time, as it was before. This part controls the safety valve on the intake manifold and briefly raises the level of charge air. In fact, it clamps this valve and prevents it from releasing the remainder of the air from the manifold. Thanks to such processes, the boost controller significantly increases the engine torque, thereby making the car more powerful and dynamic.

At the moment, there are 2 types of devices - a mechanical boost controller and an electronic one. The first type is practically not found on the modern market and is less popular than the second (although it costs 2-3 times cheaper). Electronic devices are the most modern and high-performance. They have a rather complicated algorithm of action, which not only takes into account the frequency of rotation of the crankshaft and the load on the motor, but also the driving style of each motorist. Thanks to this, the electric boost controller creates the maximum possible pressure in the system with the help of a turbocompressor, thereby increasing the power of the machine.

Is it worth it to install?

Despite the fact that the boost controller allows you to increase engine power, its performance compared to boosted units is negligible. It turns out that the additional force is only partially added to the motor, while the load on its components reaches critical levels. Therefore, only fans of various competitions install such tools. After buying an expensive device, an ordinary car owner will also have to pay extra for engine refinement, since the stock engine does not withstand such loads.

There are also more luxurious devices, for example the EVC 6 device, the cost of which is 42 thousand rubles. But why then buy this part and still spend money on revision, if for the same price you can make a full boring and forcing the motor?
