Recently, the car Opel Corsa celebrated its anniversary - 30 years since the release of the first model in 1983. During this time, four generations of cars of a well-known brand were replaced, many modifications and updates were made to the style, the wheelbase increased and decreased, the interior changed radically, but the Opel Corsa was always a perfect and, therefore, sought-after car.
The first generation Opel Corsa included models of the classic three: sedan, hatchback and station wagon. Hatchback cars were produced in two versions - three-door and five-door. The sedan was also produced in two-door and four-door formats. The compact Opel Corsa station wagon always had three doors, two side and one luggage. As for the engines for the first generation Opel Corsa, there were five gasoline and two diesel engines, of different capacities, from 46 hp. up to 104 hp
Exactly ten years later, in 1993, the Opel Corsa lineup was replenished with new modifications. Designers and designers tried to leave the overall appearance of the car unchanged and focused on design improvements.
From the exterior additions introduced a new front bumper and a more stylish grille. On this, the external update of the machine is over. But the steering was radically modernized, an effective electric power amplifier was installed on the steering wheel. Significant structural changes have been made to the front suspension. And, as the final touch in the formation of a new, second generation Opel Corsa, a completely new engine from the ECOTEC series, a liter engine with a capacity of 56 hp, appeared under the hood.
It would seem that the engine was nothing special, but the speed of the car with this engine exceeded 150 km / h. All cars of the first, as well as second generation Opel Corsa, were produced at several factories in different countries, in almost all Latin American and some countries of southern Africa.
On the Australian continent and in Japan, In England and Mexico. Opel Corsa cars were equipped in different ways in each region, depending on climatic conditions and economic opportunities of the population. Sometimes even standard bodies changed parameters, adapting to the requirements of local consumers.
The flexible management policy of the German auto giant yielded results, during the eleven years of continuous production of Opel Corsa 6 million cars were sold. But time passed, and gradually the models lost their novelty. The irreversible aging process has begun.
Competition made itself felt. Designers and designers of the Opel concern again set to work. And by 2000, the cars of the third generation Opel Corsa were ready , reviews of which exceeded all expectations. Although radical changes in the new machines were not observed, as before, surface improvements were carried out. However, slight signs of aggressiveness appeared in the car's outlines, and dynamics significantly increased.
But the fourth generation of Opel Corsa technical specifications have changed in the most radical way, the models that were presented at the London Motor Show in 2006, were distinguished by profound changes. For new cars, the Gamma platform from Fiat assets was used. Corsa has grown significantly in size, external differences with previous models were evident. The exterior of the car does not just look updated, it gives the impression of even some futurism, which means that the car does not age for a long time.
