Attraction Pyatigorsk: the temple of the Three Saints

In Pyatigorsk in 2010 a new attraction appeared. This is a wooden temple of the Three Saints.

A few words are worth mentioning about the city itself: it is located at the foot of Mount Mashuk, which rises above the city from the east. In the far north is the Beshtau mountain range. In literal translation, this means "five mountains."

Hence the name - Pyatigorsk.

The Three Saints Temple began to be built in 2009, it was built quite quickly. The very next year, in September 2010, the construction was completed.

The rite of consecration was performed on November 26, 2011.

In addition to this temple, there are eleven other Orthodox churches in the city.

The temple was consecrated in the name of the most revered Christians of all confessions of saints: Basil the Great, St. John (Zlatoust) and Gregory the Theologian.

It is administered by the Pyatigorsk and Circassian Diocese.

Three teachers of the Church

Basil the Great lived in the fourth century (330-379), was the archbishop of Cappadocia of Caesarea, always lived modestly and restraint, at one time was a monk. His services to the church are the struggle against heresy and theological works.

Gregory the Theologian (325-389 gg.) - Archbishop of Constantinople. He is known for his piety and asceticism. He received the big name of the theologian after reading the sermon "Five words about theology."

St. John (Chrysostom), years of life: 347 - 407. In 386 he was ordained a priest in Antioch. After the death of the Patriarch of Constantinople in 397 - to the rank of archbishop in Constantinople. He wrote many theological books. Known as an eloquent preacher and interpreter of the Bible. He was an example of piety and restrained life.

Temple construction and architecture

It so happened that on the day of the grand opening of the construction of the Three Saints Church, Pyatigorsk celebrated City Day.

The temple was built entirely from logs brought from the city of Kirov, and built during the year.

Today it is unique in architecture and the largest wooden church in the entire region of Transcaucasia.

The building inside and out is decorated in the Russian style of 13th century log temples.

Matrona Moscow

The temple has another shrine. This is a particle of the holy relics of Blessed Matron brought from Moscow.

Matrona Moskovskaya (11/22/1881 - 2.05.1952) was blind from birth. She was an extraordinary child. As a child, she showed a gift of foresight.

During the life of Matron, she gave many predictions that came true. Through her prayers, many people received healing.

Matron led a righteous, prayer lifestyle. Believers always came to her for advice and for spiritual, prayerful help.

It is said that she predicted her death in three days. Before she died, she said: "Come to me and ask for help, like a living person." Matrona of Moscow was buried at Danilovsky cemetery.

In 1998, the ashes of the Matrona of Moscow were transferred to the Intercession Monastery, and in 1999 the Church ranked her as a saint.

The Church of the Three Saints of Pyatigorsk attracts the attention of believers and lay people.
