Traditional medicine respects a medicinal plant called elecampane, which begins to bloom in June and ripens closer to October. The roots of the plant are rough with a dark brown tint. The height of the stems is 0.25 m. Hence the name - elecampane high. The upper and lower leaves differ in shape. Closer to the top, they curl into a lancet. At the bottom, they are stretched by a 50-centimeter oval. Large dark yellow inflorescences are located at the tips of the stems and white tendrils in the form of threads extend from them.

Storage and use in medicine

The plant is used as a remedy for many diseases. For example, elecampane treats female diseases or allows them to proceed in a milder form. Helps elecampane with delayed menstruation, as a remedy for the genitourinary system. Harvesting is carried out one year after maturation (that is, plants at the age of two years are used). As soon as leaves begin to appear on the stems (or in autumn), the plant is dug up and dried. You can use raw materials for 3 years from the date of procurement.

It has a beneficial effect on the intestines. It will not be superfluous to use elecampane with a delay in menstruation in the form of an infusion. But elecampane should not be taken during pregnancy (there are exceptions, but in general this is prohibited due to the possibility of a miscarriage).

Cold infusion

In addition, you can prepare an ointment with elecampane. For this, the crushed plant is boiled for 15 minutes (take a tablespoon of elecampane and 4 tablespoons of bacon). Elecampane with delayed menstruation and amenorrhea

Grind the rhizomes of elecampane. We select from them 40-50 grams per liter of vodka or 700 ml of alcohol.

List of contraindications
