Painting walls and ceilings is a responsible matter, and to get a good result you need to follow some rules. You should choose a good roller, and for texture painting you need a trowel or putty knife. When choosing a roller, you need to pay attention to its pile. It should absorb the paint well and apply it in a dense layer.
Excessive paint should not be abused. Suppose, if the walls are painted according to the texture of the wallpaper, then after applying two dense layers, the drawing may “drown” in paint in some places, and in other places it can appear normally. The result is an uneven "mosaic", which is unacceptable. Also, for painting ceilings and walls you will need an additional smaller roller. This will allow the coloring of hard-to-reach spots.
When painting ceilings and walls with
water-based paint using a roller, a special bath should be used, which is required to remove excess paint from the roller. This allows you to evenly apply it. Work in a room with high ceilings should be done with a roller with a special extension cord to freely reach the desired places from the floor. In the process of painting the walls, up and down movements are performed, while it is necessary to avoid paint on the ceiling.
Before painting the surface, it is recommended to prime it again with a roller, but in no case with a brush. After using the brush, stains will remain, which will later appear.

During operation, it is required to carefully examine the surface and make sure that there are no drops, smudges or excess paint in the place where the roller passed. If necessary, it is necessary to go through the painted areas repeatedly so that the paint evenly lies on the surface. In addition, the layers must be applied so that there are no gaps, especially with putty walls.
When
painting the ceiling, work should begin from the most lighted side, namely from the window. If there are several windows in the room located on different sides, it is necessary to determine where the light falls from best, this will become the starting point. The walls should be painted with paint from the illuminated side, because traces of a roller may appear when light enters their surface, especially if the paint is poorly rolled.
Side light shows even small flaws, this is especially true for the ceiling. In the case of painting the wallpaper, it is also necessary to start work from the window, since they begin to be similarly glued from the illuminated side. If low quality wallpapers were glued, then small stripes can be seen at the edges of the canvases due to poor joining of the sheets.
It is recommended to paint over such strips in the direction of gluing, in which case the paint will get into problem areas better. This technique will not particularly affect the situation, but nevertheless it will achieve a slightly better result.
