Cheating on wife in Islam yesterday and today

The Muslim religion and culture is fundamentally different, for example, from the Christian or Buddhist. The same goes for family relationships. To a modern European man, the attitude of a Muslim man to his wife, and indeed to a woman in general, may seem the worst. But is it really so? It is possible that a wife in Islam has some restrictions on her rights along with a man who is invariably considered the head of the family. However, if we turn to statistics, we will see that infidelity and divorce among Muslim believers are extremely rare, homelessness in Sharia countries is extremely low, not to mention abortion, which is prohibited by law. The reason for this, of course, is following the ancient traditions of the ancestors and the strictest compliance with the established prohibitions.

The role of women and women in Islam has remained unchanged for many centuries. Her main responsibilities include the birth and education of offspring, housekeeping, management of the acquired property of the spouse. A Muslim woman is required to honor her spouse and respect his closest relatives. It should also be noted that such a concept as “cheating on a wife” is extremely rare in Islam and by no means due to the cruel punishment that may follow. Girls in Muslim countries have been prepared for marriage from an early age, they are raised in accordance with the religious traditions of their ancestors, which exclude the possibility of adultery.

Cheating in Islam implies the existence of any sexual relationship of people who are not legally married at that moment. According to the Qur'an, adultery is nothing but the greatest mortal sin, the payment for which comes immediately. Cheating on a wife in Islam is extremely rare. In some Muslim countries, for such a crime for many centuries a capital punishment was imposed - capital punishment, or public beating. For modern Muslim women, the desire to cheat on their husbands arises infrequently.

Usually the fact of adultery is considered in the presence of a lawyer, as well as four outsiders who have an impeccable reputation in society. A person who commits adultery (adultery) is punished - beating with whips - but only in the case of full proof of his guilt. If, for any reason, the testimonies of the witnesses diverge, they may also be subjected to lashes for perjury and insulting the honor of a woman.

According to religion, the betrayal of a wife in Islam is a great sin, which involves serious punishment. However, Islam does not provide for lynching, that is, a spouse who finds out about a wife’s infidelity has no right to punish her personally. In the event that a man claims to have betrayed his wife, but cannot provide evidence of such a crime, he himself will be punished (up to 80 lashes). In some Muslim countries, laws permit the death penalty of lovers even if they voluntarily admit committing an act of adultery. In some regions, the death penalty is provided for unmarried women having sexual intercourse, although this act does not apply to treason.

Today, like a thousand years ago, the betrayal of a wife in Islam involves the entry of a married woman into any kind of sexual relationship with an outside man. The sentencing of a woman’s guilt or her innocence is preceded by a process of examination, which implies the mandatory presence of a judge (mufti, imam). In the absence of witnesses and the inability to prove the adultery committed by the wife, a decision is made on divorce. From the moment of divorce, the man stops the maintenance of the former spouse. Today there are many supporters of such divorce proceedings recommending Muslim couples who suspect each other of infidelity, but who do not have the opportunity to prove the crime, resolve the conflict in a similar peaceful way.
