Daniil Olegovich Trifonov is a young, but already well-known pianist and composer from Russia. With his incredible performance of classical works by Chopin, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, he captivates the audience in the most famous concert halls around the world. Biography
Daniil Trifonov, whose biography begins its countdown in March 1991, was born in Russia, in the city of Nizhny Novgorod. The boy was born into a musical family, and this may have predetermined his fate. Great-grandmother and great-grandfather of Daniel sang and, in addition, assembled accordions. Grandmother led the choir. Mom is a teacher of musical theory, dad is a composer. In his youth, Oleg Trifonov was even fond of punk rock, but in adulthood he switched to another, more serious music.
The future master of the piano began to study music at the age of five. Absolute hearing - this is what Daniel Trifonov received from nature as a gift. The boy’s parents understood this when the child began to show interest in his father’s synthesizer. Mom and Dad offered the young musician an alternative - the piano. Daniel liked it.
Later, the Trifonov family moved to Moscow, and at the age of nine, Daniel went to a music school. The boy was very lucky - he was trained by a talented teacher - Tatyana Zelikman, who raised a lot of gifted musicians - Konstantin Lifshits, Alexey Volodin, Alexander Kobrin.
First successes
In parallel with musical literacy in the Gnesinka, Daniil Trifonov studied with Vladimir Dovgan for three years (from 2006 to 2009). This developed the boy’s already existing abilities to create works of his own composition, which he continues to do to this day. At the age of seventeen, the young musician became a laureate of the International Competitions named after Scriabin and pianists of the Republic of San Marino.
In 2009, Daniil Trifonov began to study with Sergey Babayan in the USA - at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Glory was not long in coming. The first serious success came to Trifonov in 2010. He became a laureate of the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, receiving bronze and a mark for the best performance of the mazurka. By the way, this contest, according to the musician, most of all tempered his character, because it was there that the performers and members of the jury of the highest level were concentrated.
World recognition
In 2011, Daniil Trifonov won two international music competitions at once. In May, the pianist was named laureate of the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition. At the competition, Daniel received gold, a prize of audience sympathy and a mark for the best performance of Chopin's works and chamber music.
In June of that year, Trifonov became a laureate of the Tchaikovsky International Competition, receiving gold, a prize of audience sympathy and a prize for a brilliant performance of a concert with a chamber orchestra.
Today Daniil Trifonov is a pianist who collaborates with stars of the first magnitude. Conductors are on the same stage with him: Mikhail Pletnev, Krzysztof Penderetsky,
Vladimir Fedoseyev. The best concert halls in the world opened the door for the musician - Parisian Pleyel, Carnegie Hall in New York, London Wigmore Hall.
Trifonov performs with the world's largest orchestras - the London Symphony Orchestra and the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra under the direction of Valery Gergiev. He gives concerts with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Meta, interacts with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Anthony Vita.

In the modern world, Daniil Trifonov is a famous person. However, success did not come to him spontaneously. It took years of persistent many hours of training, character and perseverance, and most importantly, an understanding of why all this is necessary.
Today, a young man spends his energy in two directions - composing his own musical compositions and preparing for performances at various concert venues in the world.
Speaking of learning musical material, the young man admits that the time it takes to do this depends on many factors. In particular, due to the heavy workload and participation in various tour programs, it is not possible to devote enough time to studying new material. We constantly have to find ways, make time, condense the already clogged schedule. The complexity of the material also matters.
If you get a short vacation or a break in work, when you can not think about anything, but relax and meditate, learning new material usually takes one to two weeks, a maximum of a month.
About performances
In the immediate preparation for the performance before the concert, the pianist carefully discusses all the nuances with his mentor. Together they disassemble the technical details, choose the desired pace, rhythm. This is very important when performing with an orchestra, because such inconsistent moments can lead to rhythmic scatter - viewers may simply not hear the musician in the hall.
In his work, Daniel tries to concentrate on the process and does not give free rein to unnecessary thoughts, does not get sprayed on trifles. Despite winning contests, he does not relax and does not give success to turn his head. The young man frankly declares that when he is praised, he does not miss a word of congratulations through himself, everything passes by his ears.
Competitions in the life of Trifonov played an important role. The musician says that this is a special experience, very valuable and necessary. The specifics of the contests are such that they help the participant to learn how to manage their feelings and emotions, to collect their will in a fist. And this is very necessary in the future work of the musician. However, it is very important to keep your distance from the very realization that you are participating in a competition, you need to focus only on music.
According to Daniel, listening to the performance of other participants in the competition is only to make the acoustics of the hall understandable. Although all the same, during the concert, the halls are full of listeners and the acoustic characteristics of the room change in one way or another.
