In our days, ancient Slavic customs, religion and worldview, recreated by modern Russian paganism, have become very popular. The reconstruction of the pre-Christian culture of our ancestors is based on the data of folklore, language, rites, mythology. According to one theory, the Old Slavonic calendar divided the year into 16 months (halls). Each of them bore the name of an animal, and only one, the Chamber of the Virgin, was identified with a female deity. The article will describe in detail everything that relates to this period in the annual cycle: its symbol, patron, meaning, influence on a person, qualities expressed in an amulet and other features.
Swarozh Circle
In accordance with the "Daaric Year-Round of Chislobog", the Old Slavic calendar has a complex system of chronology. Each Summer (year) has a specific name, there are 16 in total and they make up the Circle of Years. Nine of these 16-year cycles are combined into a Circle of Life, which corresponds to 144 years. Out of 180 Circles of life, the so-called Svarog Day is formed, which number 25920 years. This is the time during which the Sun makes one rotation cycle around a certain cosmic center, passing 16 Star Halls or constellations, which also have their own names.
These colossal time intervals can be compared with astrological eras associated with the phenomenon of the gradual displacement of the earth's axis. For 1620 years, every day of the vernal equinox, the Sun rises in one of these halls, after which it passes to the next.
Svarozh Circle represents a peculiar Slavic-Aryan zodiac year or Summer. It consists of 365 days, also divided into 16 Halls, whose names correspond to the names of the Star Halls. This annual cycle of the sun in the celestial sphere (ecliptic), reflects the cosmic scale of the cycle that our entire solar system goes through 25920 years. Each of the 16 Halls of one Summer carries a specific designation. 15 of them correspond to the names of animals, and one of them is called the Hall of the Virgin.
Special qualities
This hall corresponds to the period starting on August 29 and ending on September 21 (in some sources August 30 โ September 22). He is patronized by Jiva (Alive), the Slavic-Aryan goddess of Universal Eternal Life. In the pantheon of pagan gods, she identifies the flowering of man and nature, the source of life and fruitful life-giving force. The totem plant of the chamber is an apple tree, a tree from Iria (Paradise), as the ancient Slavs believed.
