Since firewood, gas and coal are constantly becoming more expensive, summer residents and owners of country houses are constantly looking for ways to reduce the cost of the heating season. Someone chooses solid fuel boilers for long burning, others try to conduct experiments on combining a fireplace and a water heating circuit.
But there is a way much easier and cheaper. If you have a small out-of-town volume, then the stoves can work out with its heating. It is relatively easy to make them with your own hands, and such a stove can save a lot of money.
The advantages of heating devices of this kind
Such furnaces are characterized by extremely simple installation, elementary manufacturing technology and their โeternityโ. Since there are no complex structural elements, it can work for years. Given the speed and disassembly technology, it can be transported in the trunk of a car at any distance.
What to do?
As a rule, craftsmen can make a home-made furnace for working out of sheet metal. But access to normal metal is far from always and not at all, and even a normal welder, who will be able to boil all seams exceptionally accurately and with complete tightness, is often not at all within reach.
Based on the realities of our life, it is better to limit ourselves to a minimum of welded joints, and use an empty gas cylinder for manufacturing a furnace at workout. With your own hands it will be much easier to assemble a couple of elements into one whole, without resorting to complicated technological methods.
Structural elements
Having dealt with the main points, we get to work. Regardless of what you will make the furnaces from, you need to prepare two metal circles with your own hands. Assume that their diameter corresponds to that of a gas cylinder. The chimney pipe must be strictly vertical, without any horizontally located sections!
One of the tanks will be located above the other, holding on to the afterburner, in which several holes need to be drilled for better air flow into the combustion chamber. Important! A plate should be welded across the upper chamber (on its upper lid), which does not reach the bottom of the tank.
This is a kind of โchipperโ, from which the heated air is reflected, heating the chamber. If you forget about this extremely important detail, then the
oils of the kiln at the end of the run
( which you can do
with your own hands quite simply) will simply eat a break.
Two holes must be made in the upper cover of the lower chamber: one of them must have a shutter, by covering which you can regulate traction, avoiding excessive fuel consumption. It is better to provide the second hole with a funnel through which the used oil will be poured into the furnace.
How to kindle?
Everything is ridiculously banal: pour about a liter of oil into the lower compartment, put a small amount of burnt paper there. When the oil flares up and boils, pour another five liters there.
It is better to ask for a detailed drawing of the furnace at working out to draw up a good locksmith, since it can provide for an insert of the water heating circuit, as well as other useful devices.
