But in this article, we will focus on Kenzo perfumes and eau de toilette. What does the perfumery of this brand offer us? What are the hits of sales and what new products have appeared on the market in recent years? How much does Kenzo perfume and perfume cost? Read about it below.
Who is Takada Kenzo?
In English there is such a concept as "self-made man." Literally, it is translated as "a man who made himself." This concept is fully applicable to Takada Kenzo. He is the son of rather poor parents. Born in the Japanese outback, in the godforsaken town of Himeji in 1939. But despite the circumstances of life, he learned to become a designer. At the same time, he was supposed to break the stereotypes of the Japanese that fashion designer is exclusively a female profession. Takada was the only guy in the Bunka Gakuen fashion school. After graduating from this institution, he got a job, making out styles of clothes for supermarkets. He then lived in a small town on the outskirts of Tokyo. And then fate smiled at Kenzo. Tokyo was expanding rapidly. Entire quarters built up by mansions were demolished, and skyscrapers were erected in their place. Kenzo received considerable compensation for his house, and with the proceeds he decided to conquer Paris. Already in 1970, the western world learned about women's dresses under the Kenzo brand. Perfume took the designer’s heart much later. In 1987, a female fragrance appeared - Kenzo de Kenzo, and in 1991 - a men's fragrance Kenzo pour Homme.

Who owns the brand
For two years, the designer was torn between the world once from haute couture and perfumery. During this time, the fashion for everything Japanese has reached a peak. Europeans are tired of the pastel gray-blue palette and the sex appeal of tightening outfits. And Kenzo brought into this chic Parisian glamor an oriental brightness and a Japanese sense of freedom an expression of individuality. The same ideology can be traced in the spirit of Kenzo. Perfumery ceased to obey the established canons. Each fragrance claimed to be a person. Therefore, the Kenzo brand was so popular in the early 1990s. Sell it to Takada LVMH Corporation persuaded. Finally, in 1993, the proposed conditions satisfied the designer and he ceded all rights to perfumery, leaving himself modeling clothes. But in 1999, the designer, having received the Peace Prize, retired.
What is Kenzo's current state: haute couture perfumes
Do not think that the brand, having lost its founder, fell into decay or changed its original focus. Not at all - bright and sensual orientality, Japanese minimalism and a craving for originality continue to be present in all the flavors of this brand. But the oriental notes in them are exactly those that conquer the hearts of Europeans. This was the secret to Kenzo's success. Its aromas are not heavy, like Arab perfumes in natural oils. And at the same time, they are knocked out of a series of “just expensive” perfumes created according to canons. If you are in a crowd, a sensitive nose will immediately determine that you have Kenzo perfume or eau de toilette. This fragrance cannot be confused with anything. LVMH Corporation constantly delights its fans with new products. To create them, she invites leading perfumers such as Jacques Cavallier, Francois Demachy, Dominic Ropion, Sylvia Fischer, Sonia Constant and others.
Kenzo Men's Collection
To understand the features of the perfumes of this brand, it is worth trying early samples. The name of the perfume for women "King Kong" (1978) was shocking. Nevertheless, these spirits are successful. At first, the designer produced single fragrances, both female and male. But the LVMH corporation, which acquired the Kenzo brand, began to beat "variations on the theme." So the famous Kenzo collections were born. The Kenzo pur Omm perfume (the first sample of 1991) was continued. Now he is in the collection "For Men". The curved shape of the bottle and frosted glass are repeated in all subsequent releases. The bestseller in this collection was Kenzo Homme Boisee (woody scent). Of the new products, try Omm Knight (Night Man) and Kenzo Homme Eau de Parfum. The Kenzo fashion house does not forget about the strong field in other collections. If they are dedicated to some topic, for example, water, power, peace, then it creates paired flavors. Sometimes all the fragrances of the collection come out as "unisex." This refers to the 2016 edition of Totem. The collection, presented in three flavors (Blue, Orange and Yellow), is designed for young and energetic people of both sexes.

Classic Kenzo Collections
Of course, most of the fragrances under this brand are for ladies. In this area, the flower by Kenzo collection has become a classic. The aroma of flowers varies, but the theme of a powerful summer bouquet, where the heady rose dominates, remains. Each year, a new sample replenishes the collection. Perfumers employed by the house experiment with bouquets, complementing them with spring freshness, oriental notes. New in 2017 in this collection is Flower by Kenzo Eau de Lumière (Luminous Water). In this sample, a bouquet of Bulgarian rose, ylang-ylang and jasmine beautifully frames Calabrian bergamot and currant leaves based on violets, heliotrope and white musk. No less famous collection is the "Jungle". Perfume with an elephant cap is more popular than Kenzo Jungle le Tigre.
"Love" collections
"Kenzo Amor" and Jeu d`Amour by Kenzo reviews of Russian users are called the most recognizable and famous women's fragrances. Curved, brightly colored bottles of these series are immediately evident on the shelves of perfume stores. These collections are very popular, and therefore every year updated with new products. The last sample - Jeu d'Amour Félin, whose bottle resembles a small black dress, enchants with the aroma of strawberries, mandarin, tuberose and peony. Musk, ambergris and patchouli in the base create an amazingly feminine train. From the Amor collection, many users like the Indian Holiday.
Kenzo: the aroma of vacation
You probably often wanted to spend a moment in the resort to stop the moment. And Kenzo succeeded. The first sample in this collection was “7:15 AM in Bali”. The sun had just risen, but shreds of fog were still stuck in the dense crowns of the jungle. The freshness of foliage, the awakening of birds, the aroma of tropical flowers. The second sample of the collection, “17:40 in Madagascar” also became a bestseller. The pre-setting red sun is depicted on the box of perfume. And the bottle contains the aroma of evening Madagascar. And finally, "10:10 in Sicily." Hot rays have already heated the foliage of orange trees, which exude their aroma, mixed with a light sea breeze. Is it possible to enclose color in perfumes? And it was on the shoulder specialists from Kenzo. The “Color Yellow” perfume included all yellow in the aroma. Later, the collection was replenished with pink and purple flowers.
Water and air theme
These are two more famous Kenzo collections. Perfume stores, as a rule, have many samples of aquatic odors for both men and women. Some samples combine the theme of water with the idea of color. And in 2017, the company released a pair of Aquadizac fragrance as part of the L'O Kenzo collection. But the perfumers at home left the airspace behind a strong floor, releasing the perfume “Air” and “Air Intans”. This line immediately attracted the attention of men.
