Plasterboard ceilings in our time are well-deserved popularity. Firstly, they allow you to completely hide all defects of the overlap. Secondly, they don’t take too much room height (not more than 10 - 15 cm) and, thirdly, they are very inexpensive.
These wonderful designs have one more important advantage - aesthetic appeal.
Drywall ceiling, the design of which can be unusually spectacular, usually becomes a real “highlight” of the interior of the room.
Varieties of ceiling structures
To date, in apartments and offices, mainly two versions of plasterboard false ceilings are used: classic single-level and more spectacular multi-level. The first option is slightly cheaper, and most often it can be seen in public buildings. Plasterboard ceiling, the design of which involves the use of several levels, is usually mounted in residential premises.
Such a design not only looks very unusual and aesthetically pleasing in itself, but also makes it possible to create an unusually effective backlight.
Design options
The design project of multilevel drywall ceilings can be performed using the following elements:
- Curved arc. On the edge, spotlights are usually “launched”. A similar element is often asymmetric and goes well with furniture bends. Just great for interiors decorated in Art Nouveau style.
- Crooked waves. The edge can also be decorated with lamps, but their location does not have to repeat the bending of the niche. This is a more "independent" decor. Drywall ceiling, the design of which is made in this way, by itself serves as a decoration of the room.
- The use of "pockets" of small size. In this case, neon lights or LED strip are often used . Such ceilings have a slightly more “strict” appearance than the first two options.
- Ceiling with photowall-paper which paste in niches. The version with the image of the starry sky looks very beautiful.
- The use of geometric shapes. The practice of using diamonds, triangles, ovals, etc. At the same time, both niches and boxes of the second level are made curly.
Decorative ornaments
A plasterboard ceiling, the design of which can be absolutely any, is necessarily equipped with lamps.
Its construction is quite durable and can easily withstand up to 10 kg of weight. Therefore, you can safely use any decorative elements. Baguettes and stucco molding imitation look very beautiful in combination with such ceilings. Often plasterboard ceilings are combined with glossy stretch PVC structures. These options actually look amazing.
The design of plasterboard false ceilings can also be developed using different colors. This material is easily painted. Of course, do not use too bright shades or flashy contrasts for residential premises.
Drywall - a material that provides the designer with a huge field for creativity. If desired, the design project can be made independently. Nowadays it is easy to find just countless examples of such finishes. If you are not confident in your abilities, you can always hire a specialist to develop a project. A similar service is now provided by many companies involved in the installation of drywall constructions.
