The Jaguar XJ was introduced to the general public in March 2003. Serial production of the model began in 2004. Control

On the steering wheel there are four button switches in a horizontal plane that respond to the light touch of the thumb of the driver’s right hand, if you need to turn on the lighting of the dashboard, ceiling lights or parking lights. With the thumb of the left hand, the driver switches the air conditioning modes, activates the massage function of the backs of the front seats and adjusts the angle of the steering column. Most of the optional switches located on the steering wheel are duplicated on the center console so that they can be used by a passenger located in the front seat.
Under the steering wheel are two lever switches. The right one includes the turn signals, the left one regulates the operation of the wiper, sets the brush span frequency, as well as the intensity of the washer fluid supply. The work of the "wipers" and the washer can be combined into one automatic mode so that the driver is not distracted from driving the car for secondary tasks of cleaning the windshield.
