Infertility after abortion

Many young girls and women, having become pregnant either “at the wrong time” or “not from that”, decide on such a serious operation as an abortion. However, they often do not particularly think about the fact that infertility after an abortion is overtaken by a very large number of women who decide to get rid of pregnancy.

Abortion is a gross and very traumatic intervention in a woman's body. One can never predict with certainty and certainty the outcome of such a complex procedure. Even an experienced doctor during such an operation can make an unforeseen mistake, which often ends in disrepair. The various consequences of abortion, manifested in the form of various kinds of complications, have a certain percentage that varies at different periods of termination of pregnancy. So, the number of cases of various complications is:

- up to 8 weeks inclusive - 1%;

- 8-12 weeks - 2%;

- 12-13 weeks - 6%;

-more than 13 weeks - more than 50%.

Even abortions performed in the best clinics have serious consequences. The most common manifestations of the consequences of such an operation are a variety of infections. The consequences of abortion caused by infectious diseases also often make it impossible to get pregnant. Even long-term treatment cannot change this situation for the better.

Of course, infertility after an abortion performed outside a specialized clinic is the most common. During the operation in unsuitable conditions, the woman most often becomes infected. Around the world, a large number of young women die from the effects of community-acquired abortions.

Increased likelihood of complications with lowered immunity of a woman, which often occurs during pregnancy. If any infection was present in the woman’s body during the operation, she’s most likely to enter the bloodstream through the blood vessels of the uterus, which can lead to blood poisoning, which often leads to death.

Infertility after an abortion is a consequence of the ongoing uterine bleeding after it. If during the abortion the uterine tissue is severely damaged and the patient has bleeding disorders, in this situation there is a high probability of severe bleeding, which sometimes stops only after removal of the uterus.

The main factor resulting in infertility after an abortion is considered to be the varying severity of a uterine injury. During the operation, the cervix is forced to expand, during which it can be damaged. The result of such damage are frequent miscarriages. In some cases, a uterine wall ruptures with a medical probe.

During the abortion, a thorough curettage of the uterus occurs so that parts of the removed fetus do not remain inside it. In this case, the inner layer of its walls is very damaged, which, when healed, forms scars. Often, scar tissue is able to close the entrances to the fallopian tubes, so a fertilized cell can not get into the uterus and attach to its wall. Often such a cell is fixed inside the tubes, which leads to an ectopic pregnancy, which ends with the removal of the fallopian tube.

After an abortion, the menstrual cycle is disrupted. The greatest risk of hormonal disorders is in women who have not given birth. Restoring a normal cycle can drag on for six months, and sometimes more.

No less dangerous is the consequence of an abortion carried out with the help of certain drugs. Frequent consequences of such termination of pregnancy are infections and severe bleeding. There are frequent cases in which parts of the dead fetus remain in the uterus, causing the need for additional curettage.
