There are few people in the world who could not be impressed with acrobatic tricks: fragile acrobats soaring in the air, extraordinary flexibility and plasticity of athletes, accurate implementation of the program. In the same way, classical dance has gathered a lot of amateurs all over the world. Now imagine how great the combination of the first and second! Acrobatic dance, or Acro dance - is a classic style, but with the addition of acrobatic inserts. This determines his sporting orientation, a kind of choreography, combining two different types of plastic art, in dance performance. Today, the style is known among both amateurs and professional dancers. For example, this is one of the leading genres in the famous Cirque du Soleil. Acrobatic dance is sometimes abbreviated to the word "acro".
Acrobatic dance: features
Acrobatic sports dances, however, are not easy, because the performer must be able to dance and perform tricks. An impeccable physical form of the performer is required, because the loads during the dance are quite serious. Despite the popularity of the Akrotan, not many specialized schools teach him because of the lack of funding or lack of knowledge for acrobatic training of his students.
Acro, I must say, settled even in distant South Africa fifty years ago, and to this day he is taught there, and dancers participate in various competitions. 9 years ago, this direction was registered as a sports discipline, and to this day it is an official discipline of the South African Gymnastics Federation. Acrobatic dance championship of Russia also did not pass by.
Children's acrobatic dance
Acrobatic dance for children teaches children muscle control, flexibility, the ability to keep balance, and most importantly - discipline and concentration. All these qualities are needed by any child, and that he will always be in great shape - there is no doubt at all about this. From the presence of a sporting element, young artists do not find acro boring, they are also attracted by vivid plots and images. The moment that this style is not a dance of "puppets" attracts. Good teachers always give athletes freedom of expression. And in the dance there should not be any rules restricting movements. Sometimes, to adapt the numbers to a particular performer, movements from modern dance, jazz, tap dance, ballet are added.
History of Acrobatic Dance
This dance direction appeared at the beginning of the last century in Canada and the USA. It was one of the productions of vaudeville. Note that in the last decades of the nineteenth century, individual classical dance and acrobatics took place in performances, but then they were not so popular and did not represent a harmonious synthesis. There is no definite author of this trend in history. The dance appeared in vaudeville little by little and in a variety of forms, so the founder of acro can no longer be identified.

The decline in popularity of vaudeville was the starting point for the evolution of the Akrotan. One of the important points in transforming the direction into what we have the opportunity to observe today is the inclusion of ballet technique in the dance program as a basis for unusual stages. The consequence of this was the dancer's honed movements, which the vaudeville could not boast of. The downside of acro in vaudeville was that it was just a performance of tricks with musical accompaniment, and modern performances are primarily a dance that includes acrobatic movements.
Acrobatic dance composition
The composition of this direction is based on a figurative combination of arbitrary combinations. Such a figurative-etude style requires from the performer not only good technical training, but also the presence of artistic and expressive skills. In addition, acrobatic dance also involves a very careful selection of music for the performance, great attention to its content, preparation of an individual plot, and the search for the most diverse means of expression. Music for acrobatic dance uses the most diverse. Especially thorough mastering and studying of stunt movements and ligaments is necessary, and to everything else, performers must be able to create and embody artistic, emotional and plastic images.
Means of expressiveness of dance
The leading means of acro expressiveness are, first of all, harmonious postures and movements of athletes. No less important are facial expressions, and the ability to feel the pace, rhythm, dynamics of movement, keep in mind the spatial pattern of the dance and its composition, the plastic expressiveness of the performer.
Dancers are not forbidden to use elements from other dance styles - jazz, folk or classical dance, modern and others, one condition is that these movements should not dominate the main character of the dance. The costume of the artist must correspond to the figurative style of performance.
Prohibited!
There are not so many bans in this direction. The veto is imposed on the inclusion of elements from the following disciplines: acrobatic rock and roll and sports aerobics. This is due to the fact that these dances have their own bright style of performance and this contradicts the concept of acrobatic dance itself. However, as was written above, elements of other disciplines are not prohibited to be included in the number.
Also prohibited is the use by the athletes themselves or being on the dance floor of any additional props.
