In 2010, as part of an automobile exhibition in the Russian capital, the official debut of the Renault Latitude model took place. Reviews of the first owners of the novelty characterized it as a rather practical car with good technical characteristics, an interesting interior and original appearance. All these features made the model a real flagship of the French manufacturing company. However, the car was created in collaboration with designers from Nissan. The great success of the model in world markets has led to the fact that starting in 2015, its second generation appeared on sale.
The start of the second generation
In the salons of domestic dealers, applications for the purchase of a new version of Renault Latitude started last summer. The technical stuff of the update was almost not affected. Along with this, the developers slightly modernized the appearance of the car to modern realities, made some changes to the interior and expanded the list of equipment offered to buyers of the car. The cost of the car, compared with its predecessor, depending on the configuration, increased by an amount in the range of 75 thousand rubles.
Exterior and dimensions
As noted above, global changes in the appearance of Renault Latitude have not occurred. Along with this, the model has acquired an updated front bumper, head optics, grille and taillights. Dimensions remained the same and are 4897x1832x1483 mm in length, width and height, respectively. As for clearance, it is set at around 153 mm. It weighs 1495 kg.
Interior
Designers made even fewer changes to the car's interior. First of all, in the new generation of Renault Latitude, higher quality materials are used for upholstery. The dashboard has been updated and received a new multimedia system with a seven-inch touch screen. The car boasts a fairly large amount of free space inside. In addition, the machine is characterized by excellent ergonomics. The luggage compartment can accommodate up to 477 liters of cargo.
Main characteristics
The base power unit for the model was a four-cylinder in-line gasoline engine, the volume of which is two liters. The motor is capable of developing 139 “horses” and meets the requirements of the Euro-4 standard. It functions in conjunction with a continuously variable variator type gearbox. It takes about 12 seconds to accelerate to “hundreds” from a standstill. As for fuel consumption, in the combined cycle the Renault Latitude model consumes about 8.3 liters of gasoline. At the choice of potential buyers are offered more powerful options for powertrains.
Chassis
Auto built on the basis of a front-wheel drive platform. It uses a completely independent suspension, which is based on MacPherson struts in the front, and on the multi-link design in the back. Steering rack and pinion supplemented with hydraulic booster. Ventilated discs are mounted on the drive wheels, while simple disc brakes are installed on the rear wheels. The car comes to the domestic market in four configuration options. In the simplest of them, the developers have provided 17-inch wheels, fog lights, a fabric interior, an on-board computer, six airbags, electronic mirrors and much more. In the following configuration, cruise and climate control, rain sensors, a rear view camera, a system for monitoring the so-called blind spots and bi-xenon headlights are added to the list. As for the cost of the Renault Latitude model, the price of a car in domestic showrooms starts at 999 thousand rubles and can reach 1,439 thousand rubles in the maximum configuration.
