The Largus car model presented today by LADA is a joint project of the domestic automobile industry and the French Renault corporation. This car model has been produced since 2008. According to many characteristics, Largus copies the Renault Logan MCV model (production began in 2006), having only radiator grilles, cladding parts and, in fact, the manufacturer’s logo.

Modification for 7 passengers will accommodate only 198 liters of luggage, and 5-seater - already at 700 liters. If the rear row seats are additionally folded, then this volume can be increased to 2350 liters, which is almost like the cargo version.
In general, the exterior of the car is restrained, and its main advantage is spaciousness. Maybe that’s why his name is translated from Latin as “generous”. For the convenience of using a large volume of luggage compartments, they are equipped with hinged doors. The total glazing area of the car is large, all lines are flat, simple rectangular shapes.

The most equipped offer for the car has the ability to adjust the lumbar support, power steering, front power windows, air conditioning, ABS and radio. Their volume is always 1.6 liters and functions only in conjunction with a five-speed manual gearbox. Despite the fact that the power units for this car were fully developed by a French concern, the engines are fully adapted to the conditions of the Russian climate. The engine on the Largus K4M is installed only on a 7-seater station wagon and in luxury auto trim levels. Its main distinguishing features are: quiet operation, lack of vibration and fuel consumption in mixed mode of only 9 liters per 100 km.
Unit disadvantages
The 16-valve Largus engines also do not always have good reviews. Among the shortcomings of the power unit, many note the lack of dynamics and skipping rpm when using low-octane fuel. Of course, the complexity of the assembly of this unit affects its cost.
The price for its maintenance will also be noticeably higher (compared to the 8-valve), but at the same time, the manufacturer gives a guarantee of 450 thousand kilometers, and with proper care and timely inspection, the engine will last longer.
In general, if you choose between two models of engines, a more powerful one is also more profitable, since it does not require frequent adjustment of the valves.
Which engine is better?
An undoubted conclusion from many opinions is that when choosing an engine for Largus, one should pay attention to its most powerful model. Only a 16-valve unit can boast of maximum reliability and practicality, since it shows itself equally well in conditions of both the highway and the city.
Today, Largus models are produced with a VAZ engine and Spanish production. You can determine the place of their assembly by marking on the power unit: assembled in Russia - P, assembled in Spain - D. Interestingly, these engines do not differ in quality at all. Perhaps this was the replacement of the production line, which now meets all international standards. In general, standard jokes about the domestic auto industry in this case will be inappropriate.
The nuance of using a car with a powerful engine installed was only his work in the summer, when air conditioning was turned on in the cabin. At the same time, the low revolutions of the power unit are felt with some effort, but at a speed above 90 km / h this ceases to be felt.

In fact, thanks to the painstaking work of engineers, the gap between fuel consumption in different engine modifications was reduced to almost zero. Thus, the technical characteristics are not significant factors of choice, but the cost of power units with a different number of valves is still noticeably different.
The newer Largus Cross engine has only a 16-valve. This is due to the approach of the car to the luxury class. In its standard configuration, in addition to a powerful engine, there are other advantages available in conventional models only with a surcharge or a complete set of increased comfort.
In any case, it should be remembered that absolutely all models of Largus cars are assembled on modern conveyor lines and comply with all international standards.
