For the first time, the Volvo XC70 was introduced in 2000 at one of the car dealerships. Then the model was just a modified version of the V70 XC, but subsequently it was decided to make a separate car. So in 2002, the XC70 station wagon completely independent and independent of other cars appeared. Production of the first generation lasted from 2000 to 2004.
In 2004, it was decided to refresh and update the model a little. Actually, the appearance has not changed. A few decorative elements were added, the interior was slightly changed. In technical terms, the changes affected only the engines - one of the three units acquired a slightly lower power than before.
In 2007, during one of the automobile exhibitions, the company introduced the second generation XC70. The model has changed dramatically in appearance. The design has become more modern and attractive. The interior has changed - it began to look richer thanks to the finishing materials, and also became even more comfortable and spacious. In 2016, the second generation of the model was restyled. The appearance of the XC70 has been updated again and become more modern. A lot of decorative elements were added. The front is very attracted to branded headlights with a bit of a "predatory look."
