New Features
The new generation Skoda Octavia RS has become much faster than ever before in the history of the Skoda brand. It seems that manufacturers have decided to expand the circle of consumers in order to compare with the largest car manufacturers in the world. Unfortunately, she managed to achieve excellent heights only among her own models, remaining in this segment of cars "graze the rear." Under the generic name Skoda Octavia RS, the company chose to hide two cars at the same time: the first station wagon in the back, and the second - liftback. Design
The dimensions of the new RS-ok have changed very little when compared with the basic versions of the Skoda Octavia. However, the appearance is still noticeably transformed. Of course, all the forces of engineers were thrown to maximize the sporty appearance of the car. To be honest, it was done a little faded. Yes, Czech designers tried, but apart from modified bumpers, enlarged air intakes, a neat rear spoiler and a spectacular grille, nothing more was added. Alloy wheels, which are equipped with the Skoda Octavia RS, also meet the corresponding design. By the way, 18- and 19-inch wheels are available for choice. In general, the exterior of our heroine turned out to be quite attractive and presentable, which the young audience will definitely like. However, the Czechs could not realize the maximum potential. Perhaps all this is due to excessive following the company's traditions, because the optics remained too “civilian”, some body styles are conservative, and a little customization would not hinder the thresholds, which would certainly bring even more sportiness to the Skoda Octavia RS. In the final analysis, of course, the new model will always find its customers, as many drivers will like these forms.

New interior
Of course, modernization affected not only the appearance, but also the interior. In the interior of the new Scoda Octavia RS, the old "civilian" seats disappeared, giving way to more sporting models. The second change affected the steering wheel, which was replaced by a three-spoke, with leather trim. The next innovation was the steel edging of the pedals and sills, as well as a slightly modified interior lighting. The fifth improvement that has significantly transformed the model is the appearance of the Maxi DOT display on the dashboard. Carbon inserts also appeared in the interior, pleasing the eye with their spectacular effect, as well as other elements belonging to the class of accessories. Ergonomics is simply nothing to complain about, because it is verified to a shine. Sometimes it even seems that you are driving an expensive German car. Here, the new model can show itself in all its beauty. Unlike standard models, it is equipped with only two versions of engines: gasoline and diesel. The first should be the trump card RS-ki. A turbocharged 2-liter engine is much more powerful than its diesel counterpart, with 220 “horses”. In the basic equipment, the car is aggregated with a 6-speed "mechanics", which allows us to disperse our "beast" to 248 km / h, spending only 6.8 seconds to overcome the hundredth milestone. This indicator defines the absolute record in the Octavia RS family. Of course, this is a very good result for the car, and given the inexperience of Czech automakers in this segment, the achievement is absolutely amazing. That's just all the competitive "classmates" show much better dynamics, which should be unfortunate for the company. For example, the same Volkswagen Golf GTI, which is the closest "relative" to Skoda, overcomes the milestone of 100 km / h in 6.4 seconds, the Ford Focus ST forgets about a hundred after 6.5 seconds, and the Mazda 3 MPS completely fits in 6.1 seconds. We turn to the diesel unit (in Russia, unfortunately, cars with this engine are not supplied). Its volume is similar to the gasoline version - 2 liters. Of course, it is also turbocharged. Its capacity is 184 liters. pp., which, as you see, is significantly lower than that of his older brother. The 6-speed "mechanics" acts as a checkpoint, thanks to which the new product can be accelerated to 232 km / h, and overcome the "hundred" in 8.1 seconds. The indicator, frankly, is very weak. If you don’t really like “mechanics”, then the Czechs offer as an alternative 6-Art. DSG robotic gearbox, which is also available with a gasoline engine. For the basic version of the Skoda Octavia RS, the price starts at 1 million 294 thousand rubles for a liftback and from 1 million 364 thousand rubles for a top wagon.
Fuel consumption
As for fuel consumption, it is very economical. The least "gluttonous" is the diesel version of the RS-ki, which consumes 19% less than its predecessor. In the combined cycle, its figure is 4.6 liters. CO2 emissions stop at 119 g / km. A gasoline engine “eats” an average of 6.4 liters per 100 km, and CO 2 emissions of 142 g / km. Controllability
The suspension in the new models was inherited from the usual top-end versions of Czech cars. If in more detail, then our RSs use an independent design with MacPherson struts in the front, as well as an independent multi-link rear suspension. Of course, both suspensions have been modernized and perfectly adapted for high-speed driving. In view of all these transformations, the clearance was also reduced: by 12 mm for the liftback and 13 mm for the station wagon. In general, the suspension perfectly "swallows" bumps, coping with poor road surface with a bang. The steering wheel is also equipped with good responsiveness, because the car reacts quickly and sharply to its movements, which makes it comfortable to feel in an active traffic stream and in sharp turns.
