Real American cars stood out from the mass of vehicles with unusually powerful powertrains. Many are familiar, albeit indirectly, with the famous “Dodge Viper”. The characteristics of this nearly 700 powerful monster are amazing. Its appearance is fascinating and attracts with an unusually long muzzle and a massive spoiler. Company History
This American model is today more than 25 years old. The first Vipers appeared in 1992. The developers of the company three years before came up with the idea to create an incredibly daring sports car. Of course, the goal was to make a true "American." At that time, the famous “Chargers” of 1967 were very popular, and it all came down to the production of such machines. Huge power in conjunction with the insane volume of engines - a hallmark of muscle cars, as they were called.
Initially, it was proposed to equip the Dodge Viper with a pickup engine, but later this idea had to be abandoned due to the high mass of the installation. To the aid of the American concern came the engineers of the company Lamborghini, which in those years was a branch of Chrysler. The result of this collaboration was the V10 aluminum powertrain. The company’s specialists finalized the motor a little, and an eight-liter monster with 400 horsepower turned out. At the same time, there was no talk about any stabilization, real unbridled power.
“Dodge Viper” was subsequently given to a special development department - SRT (Street Racing Technology). In 2003, a version with a 8.3 liter engine with a capacity of 510 "horses" was released.
Further, the history of the sports car is similar to the life of the Phoenix. In 2005, representatives of the company said they intend to stop the production of cars. A year later, these words were translated into action, the company stopped the production of the Dodge Viper machine.
The resonance in the society greatly influenced the opinion of the concern management, and in 2008 the updated monster SRT 10 rolled off the assembly line. The technical equipment did not undergo significant changes. When using new equipment and electronic control systems, the car produced a maximum of 600 horsepower with a torque of 760 Nm.
In 2012, the developers decided to release a restyled version of the Viper, with an unforgettable appearance. A closed version was proposed as the first updated body, which contradicted the tradition of the company. To achieve the best dynamic performance, the company began the pursuit of weight loss. As a result, we got many body parts made of carbon fiber, alloy wheels and an updated suspension.
Last year, the company introduced a new car model, and as an employee of the company said, this is the latest version of the “Dodge Viper” (photos are presented in the article). But who knows, maybe we will soon see another rebirth from the ashes of the "Viper", as several years ago?
Viper Interior
There are very few photos of the interior of the updated sports car, and there is no confirmation of their authenticity. But we can assume that the developers, in order to reduce the weight of the machine, carefully worked out the interior. Perhaps they removed the standard radio wave amplifier, speakers and carpet.
Most likely, carbon fiber will be used as the material of the front panel. This will give a more sporty look to the interior and will significantly reduce the total mass of the car. The seats traditional for sports cars - buckets with safety belts, will be wrapped in Alcantara, which will give comfort to the driver. This has been shown at international auto show. But at the same time, the manufacturer pointed out that the buyer will be able to choose one of 16 options for trim styles.
Appearance
Streamlined body - the main horse of the car. The domed roof with double bulges is made for more convenient landing of pilots in the car. The forward muzzle allows you to provide the best aerodynamics. "Viper" is equipped with a supporting frame made of high strength steel. The doors are made of aluminum, which also contributes to weight loss.
The chief designer of the company, Scott Kruger, contributed to the transformation of appearance. He proposed modifying the air intakes and side pipes of the exhaust system. On the trunk lid there is a considerable size rear wing, and a splitter is installed in front.
Power indicators
Technical characteristics of the car are striking in their performance. Under the hood of the Dodge Viper is a 8.3-liter V10 engine with a maximum power of 655 horsepower. This aluminum monster accelerates the Viper to 315 km / h, when crossing the 100 km / h mark in 3.6 seconds. Fuel consumption, as you can assume, is considerable - 21 liters with a mixed cycle.
The updated 6-speed gearbox now does not make a rumble at high speeds. The Brembo carbon ceramic brakes Matrix did not remain unchanged. The maximum configuration is also equipped with a suspension in two levels, with the ability to turn off the stabilization system and the function of quickly starting from a standstill.

Along with competitors such as the Chevrolet Corvette and Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, the Dodge Viper has these advantages:

The automaker plans to release a Dodge Viper model in limited quantities. In our country, it will not be possible to freely access it. Accordingly, it will be possible to purchase only by special order from the United States of America. There are three modifications of the Viper to choose from: the SRT standard, the GT version and the GTS.
The opportunity to create an individual design and the choice of body colors has not gone away. The manufacturer claims that it will offer the future owner more than 8,000 primary colors and 24 as a color for stylish stripes on the hood and roof.
The cost of the new “Dodge Viper” model line in 2017 will start at 5,900,000 rubles. There will be 5 special model variants that will be the last Vipers released in the history of the Chrysler concern:
