Leprikonsy group is a Belarusian pop-punk band formed in 1997. Ilya Mitko is the founder, vocalist and author of the main part of the teamâs compositions. The prerequisites for the creation of the group arose in 1996. Ilya Mitko even before creating a new band played in a punk rock band called Kindergarten.
History of creation
The creator of the Leprekonsy group in his last team was a vocalist. However, he still lacked freedom. Because the group did not last long, in turn, the vocalist who left it created another group and called it âLeprikonâ. Colleagues performed hardcore. In 1997, the team recorded the first demo tape, and also began to use the accordion.
This instrument was taken over by former bassist Vladimir Fedoruk. The musicians called their first brainchild âChildrenâ and sold this work in the amount of ten pieces. In total there were 20 cassettes. In the group, after this, a real turnover began. Bassists and guitarists came and went. Girls were replaced by guys.
Finally, a series of drastic changes was completed, and the new composition of the musicians began to write a serious full-fledged album with the working title âA man walks and smiles,â but this work was later released under the name âYou and I were SUPERâ.
By the time this album was released, the chorus âKhali-Gali, Paratrooperâ was already in full swing, and the group âLeprikonsyâ managed to conclude an agreement with the Soyuz studio.
From that moment, concerts, festivals, broadcasts and tours started. Among such events, the main one can be considered the performance of the team at the opening of the second day of the festival "Invasion 2000". The second album of the group was released in 2001, in the summer.
