The small-sized and compact car “Oka”, or VAZ 1111, first appeared at the AvtoVAZ and Volzhsky plants in 1989 and was supposed to become an affordable, popular and economical family car. The Oka developers designed a practical budget model for middle-income people. The subcompact was produced in a wide variety of modifications - social for the disabled with a liter engine, sports with an electric drive and enhanced suspension, and the low cost of the car was achieved by the modest equipment of the cabin. Initially, the Oka was produced with a simple engine of 30 horsepower, later 33 hp models came off the assembly line. and 53 hp "Oka", the characteristics of which are functional: independent suspension, hydraulic, front disc brakes, rear drum, front suspension and clutch drive - cable, ideal for city bustle and travel to the country. The dimensions of the car allow you to park even in the most inconvenient and small places, to maneuver in the city traffic - the length of the Oka is 3.2 m, the width is 1.42 m, the height is 1.4 m, and the weight is only 645 kg. The Oka engine, whose characteristics are not particularly powerful, is simple and affordable to maintain. The car was discontinued in 2008.

There was a modification of "Electro" in production, which worked on an electric drive, it functioned silently and non-toxic. In general, the Oka, whose characteristics are modest, but functional and practical, very rarely needs to be repaired, and if such a need arises, then repairs are very cheap. Oka is an excellent means of transportation around the city.
Pros and Cons of a Car
The advantages of the VAZ 1111 model can undoubtedly include an unusually low fuel consumption, only 3.2 liters per 100 km and excellent maneuverability in the flow of cars. Despite the modest dimensions of the car, if you fold the rear seats, the luggage compartment becomes very roomy, almost the same as any ordinary sedan. The salon is equipped with a good stove and a comfortable steering wheel, the clutch pedal is soft. The most important advantage of the Oka is, of course, its unpretentiousness in use, low price of spare parts and ease of repair.
Among the shortcomings of the car - the lack of sound insulation, short seats and lack of rear doors, the second row is extremely inconvenient to climb with such a compact size.
