In order to repair the VAZ 2110-2114 electronic cornering relay, you need to have an operating manual, a probe, and certain knowledge of the engine starting system device.
What is this system like?
First you need to understand the composition of this device. The following parts are included in the engine's electric start-up system: cornering relay, starter, ignition and interlock switches, wires connecting the entire circuit, and, of course, a car battery. Knowing this, you can safely get to work.
So, to adjust the relay of turns (namely, the gap that is between the focus and the end of the gear), you need to disconnect the winding wires from the power supply. They are designated by the letter "M". Next, you need to connect the battery (preferably a 12-volt) to the winding and to another wire was made, which is marked with the English letter "S". It is important to remember that the gear must move to the engaged position. Then, using the probe, you should check the gap between the stop itself and the gear face. If there are slight deviations, then in this case you need to remove or install (depending on the testimony of the probe) the gasket between the wire cover and the cornering relay.
To check the status of the winding, you will need to connect the circuit components to the starter as indicated in the instruction manual, and the wires must be disconnected from the power supply of the part marked with the letter “M”. Then connect the car battery to the terminals as indicated in the first case. If the gear is in good condition, it should move to the gearing position.
Another case - if you want to determine the state of the holding coil of the turn relay, for this you will need to connect power to the ground and terminal “S”. The wire "M" in this case should be disconnected from the battery. Thus, you find out the health of the relay. If the gear extends and then comes back again several times, this means that the winding is damaged. There is no point in repairing it; the only thing that can save the situation is replacing the relay.
Tip
When adjusting this system, the optimum indicator is the maximum permissible norm of the voltage and current values in the winding, which can be found in the same instruction manual. If the current in the wires increases, this can lead to rapid overheating and subsequent failure of the system. If this indicator is below the norm, this can lead to a decrease in the reliability of contacts. Therefore, take care of your car and set only the voltage indicated by the manufacturer.
