What is printer toner

Every day, modern technology is developing faster and faster. More recently, to obtain high-quality printed text, one had to use a typewriter, and there was no question of obtaining a color image at all. At the same time, the demand for printed products was constantly growing, which stimulated the invention of such a device as a printer.

Printer Toner

Today, the most popular printing device in this category is an inkjet printer, which uses liquid ink for its work, as well as a laser, which uses toner for the printer.

The difference between the two devices is quite large. Firstly, it lies in the quality of the seal itself. The inkjet printer uses ink that is highly soluble in water and therefore unstable to moisture. Toner for a laser printer, on the contrary, tolerates environmental influences very well, but the images made on such a device are significantly inferior in terms of clarity and contrast to inkjet printer products. That is why, when it comes to photography or very high-quality image printing, they usually talk about a liquid ink printer.

Toners for laser printers

Toners for laser printers are practically not used in color printing of images or drawings. Usually limited to minor color palettes or those images where the clarity of small details is not important.

However, in a situation with a large number of texts, the laser printer occupies a leading position. The fact is that an inkjet printer has a rather low speed of applying an image, this becomes especially noticeable when using tables or small figures in texts. Typically, toner for a printer is applied in areas, regardless of what it transfers onto paper. At the same time, strict distribution is required for the ink, so they are applied in strips using a print head or cartridge. This process takes a considerable time, which is almost three times the work of a laser printing device.

Laser Printer Toners

Another major difference in this equipment is the cost of its consumables. Printer toner costs a bit more than refill ink. However, if you translate its volume into the time spent and the number of pages received, it turns out that such a cost is quite appropriate and justifies itself. Although this only applies to printing large amounts of text pages and small images. When using the color mode, the cost of the page compared with an inkjet printer increases significantly.

Thus, toner for the printer is well established in office work. Laser printing devices are used in large companies, government agencies and other instances where work with a large volume of documentation is required. But an inkjet printer is usually used for artistic printing or for making photographs, and thanks to such versatility and inexpensive ink, it is readily purchased for home use.
