Inexpensive, but it is quite functional is the entry-level inkjet printer EPSON L110. Its capabilities are quite enough to create a small printing factory both at home and in a small office. This is an excellent printer, it will be discussed later.
Segment
The hero of this review is aimed at the segment of budget printing devices. This is proved by its price and its technical specifications. But at the same time, he has an NPH system, and it is precisely this important feature that distinguishes him against the background of competing solutions. Due to such an engineering solution of the Japanese manufacturer, its products, in terms of costs for consumables, are more economical than anyone else.
Equipment
The following list in terms of configuration, in addition to the printer itself, boasts EPSON L110:
- User's manual.
- Cable for power supply.
- Warranty card.
- Disk with application software (drivers for Windows and MacOS).
- 4 ink tanks.
The first thing that is clearly not enough in the above list is the USB interface cable, without which it is impossible to use this device for its intended purpose. The second important component, which is certainly lacking, is the driver for the Linux operating system. As a result, problems may occur if this printer is connected to a PC with such system software. Otherwise, the previously mentioned equipment is quite typical and standard.
Printing technology. Colors
Like any other printer of this company, EPSON L110 uses inkjet technology to print output documents. There are only 4 ink tanks in this unit. One of them is black and is used in monochrome printing mode. The remaining three colors are used to form a color image, and in this case the list of colors is as follows: blue, yellow and magenta.
Interfaces
Just one wired interface is designed to connect to an EPSON L110 computer. This is USB version 2.0. Since this interface is unified, without any problems this budget printer can be connected to the USB ports of versions 1.0, 1.1 and even 3.0. In the first two cases, the print speed will slightly decrease, and in the latter, the speed of the port itself will automatically decrease.
The disadvantages in this case include the lack of a Wi-Fi transmitter and a slot for installing memory cards. Of course, such options would make the use of such a printing device more convenient, but in this case it would cease to belong to entry-level solutions. As a result, Japanese engineers had to sacrifice functionality for the sake of value.
Resolution
According to the claimed resolution of 5760 x 1440 for sheets of A4 paper, this printer is not inferior even to photo printers. But a drop of 3 picoliters does not allow to obtain such a high-quality and detailed image as with more expensive devices with a point size of 1.5 picoliters. Given the positioning of this printer as a budget class solution, the stated resolution is enough to get very high-quality prints.
Paper size. Speed
A4 is the largest sheet of paper on which the EPSON L110 printer can print. Owner reviews indicate that there is no rigid binding to standard sizes in this case. The length and width of the sheet can be set in the settings of the printing device. The minimum density value in this case is 64 g / m 2 , and it is for this reason that it is not allowed to print on this printer on "newspaper" paper, the density of which is significantly lower than this value. The maximum density value is 300 g / m 2 . The output speed of ordinary A4 sheets in monochrome is 27 pages per minute, and in color - 15. If you output on photo paper with dimensions of 15 x 10, then the output time of one such document will be 69 seconds.
User reviews
Most users characterize only the positive side of EPSON L110. Reviews highlight his strong points: the presence of CISS, a sufficiently large resolution value and excellent print quality. The disadvantages include a modest bundle (lack of a cord for connecting to the PC system unit and drivers for the Linux OS). And if the first of them is not so critical and it is not so difficult to buy such an accessory, then only a well-trained user can deal with the second.
Price
Now stocks of this budget printing device are still on sale. The price for it starts at 7500 rubles. Given the specifications and the presence of the NPH system in it initially, this is a very, very democratic cost, which really leaves no chance for its direct competing solutions.
Summary
An excellent low-cost printer with an integrated NPC system and low cost per page is EPSON L110. In its niche, it is rightfully out of competition, and only more recent solutions of this Japanese manufacturer, for example L120, can be better than it.
