Origin of the word
The word "guria" is derived from "havira". In Arabic, it means "a white eye with deep blue-black pupils and graceful eyebrows."

These are beautiful girls who were created by Allah for souls who go to Paradise in order to serve them. However, the main occupation of the paradise inhabitants is to be spouses for men.
Gurias are colorfully described in numerous hadiths. According to these sources authoritative for Muslims, beautiful paradise girls are perfect. They have incomparable beauty, meek and quiet disposition. They do not have the disadvantages inherent in earthly women - the gurus are not susceptible to disease, they have no menstruation, they do not defecate, they do not sweat, they do not have a runny nose and their head never hurts, so their body is completely in every way. In addition, they cannot become pregnant. The Paradise gurus in Islam are completely subordinate to their husband and never look at other men. In general, they represent the ideal of a woman in the mind of Muslims - an ideal that is absolutely unattainable for earthly women (at least for purely physical reasons).
Most often, the gurus appear in the form of full-breasted girls with large black eyes and silvery skin. They are all virgins. In the hadiths it was repeatedly emphasized that they were not touched by the hand of either a person or a genie, and they are also the same age as their husbands. Guria in paradise in Islam live among green shady fruitful gardens in luxurious tents, where they recline on richly decorated carpets. In addition, in the Qur'an, in addition to another numerous description of the ghuri in Islam, it is said that these girls are like pearls hidden in a shell, rubies and sapphires. The Prophet says that they are like red wine in an elegant white glass: their breasts are round, pointed and not inclined to sag, the body is so thin and transparent that you can see the bone marrow.
It is worth saying that the righteous men themselves in their appearance correspond to the paradise beauties. These people shine like moonlight, they do not defecate or urinate, and they are also fragrant with musk. They will live in luxurious palaces with many colorful rooms, each of which will have many beds of aloe wood. The domes of these palaces are covered with precious stones: pearls, rubies and aquamarine. Indeed, this temperamental idea of paradise is very different from the analogous Christian one, in which you will not find such a palace, and even more so a wonderful guriy.

The lower part of their body is made of musk, the upper part is made of camphor, their middle consists of ambergris, and their hair is made from nura.
Whose wives will be the gurus?
Such happiness in the afterlife falls to those men who spent their lives in accordance with the instructions of Allah, were pious, nobly endured all kinds of difficulties and always tried to prevent injustice, evil and vice. A reasonable question arises: "If husbands get heavenly beauties, gurus, then what remains of their wives?" The muftis answer this question as follows: righteous wives will follow their husbands to heaven and will live there with them. If the woman was not married, then she will be able to either choose one of the righteous as her husband, or Allah will create an ideal companion (apparently, an analogue of the guria) specially for her.

It is worth clarifying that the term "guria" is used mainly in earlier parts of the holy book. Later, along with righteous husbands, their spouses begin to appear - in a transformed form, younger and much cleaner, and also again virgins. However, the gurus in Islam are still laid to every righteous, they become his many other wives. In general, there are about seventy ghurians per Muslim who goes to heaven (this number differs in different hadiths and sometimes reaches five hundred). However, the earthly wife will still surpass all the paradise inhabitants, because she, the righteous, performed the prayer and worshiped Allah during her life on earth. Sufi understanding
There is a literal perception of the image of the gurus in Islam, promised to the righteous in very real heavens, and a symbolic interpretation of this image. The latter belongs to the Sufis, Islamic mystics. They understand the guria as a symbol of mystical pleasures, which is why it becomes especially important the difference between paradise beauties and imperfect earthly women. Of course, mystical love is also the lot of the faithful righteous, following the true path.
