Halloween is celebrated by more and more Russians every year. We are happy to dress up in horror costumes, put pumpkins on the windows, sometimes without suspecting why, in fact, we are doing this.
The origin of the holiday is connected with the history of the ancient Celts. On October 31, these people celebrated New Year's Eve. According to their calendar, on November 1, winter began, which in cold countries was associated with death. It was believed that on New Year's Eve the border between our and the other world opens, and the shadows of dead people return to Earth to complete their affairs.
In order not to become the prey of the dead, people changed into scary costumes. It could be costumes of wild animals, ghosts, even plants. It was believed that the more terrible the Halloween image, the less likely it was to meet a dead man.
In order not to let the evil spirits into their home, they were putting on the threshold of food, hoping that well-fed spirits and ghosts would not seek a meeting with its owners.
By morning, the dead were to return to their world. So that they did not lose the road, the Celts made special lanterns from pumpkins, illuminating the road to the other world.
Over time, the old rite was transformed into a fun holiday, but the question of who to dress up for Halloween remained. Today it is especially relevant, because many kindergartens, schools with an English bias, night clubs hold events dedicated to the "All Saints Day."
How to make a Halloween costume? There are two ways. The first is expensive and uninteresting. You can go to a specialty store, buy a ready-made suit. You will only have to decide what kind of Halloween image you want to create, pay money. The sellers will pick up any costume: from the sexy cop to the scary "Rattlesome Willow" from the movie "Harry Potter".
The second way is more economical and exciting. An image for Halloween can be created from improvised means.
In general, all the costumes for this holiday can be divided into categories.
The first is the images of famous personalities. For example, in order to become Elvis Presley, it is enough to style your hair in a certain way, fix the false whiskers, put on a bright (you can golden) jacket, embroidered with bright sparkles.
The second category of costumes is evil. Vampires, zombies, Baba Yaga, Kikimora, Frankenstein - the more terrible the Halloween image, the more success it enjoys. Turning into a zombie is easy. It is enough to tear clothes, to paint a more terrible face. But such costumes are not very popular today - they do not have an erotic connotation. But the sexy Baba Yaga will be quite popular and can count on one of the prizes with which the best costumes are celebrated in night clubs.
This Halloween image is easy to create. First, apply a brighter make-up in the style of "a la 80s." Lips can be made not red, but, for example, black or dark green. Beat hair, turning it into a kind of unkempt strands, tie a scarf as wears the “real” Baba Yaga. A short fluffy skirt is suitable for a suit: “torn”, torn. The same blouse. It is good if the holes on it open up those parts of the body that awaken the imagination of the opposite sex. We put on the same “tattered” tights and any shoes that imitate bast shoes or felt boots.
