Breast during pregnancy

Before a woman does a pregnancy test, it is her breast that will let her know that something has changed in her body. In the first days and weeks, it becomes more sensitive, tender and changes its shape. The breast during pregnancy looks great, but these changes are not for beauty, only biological factors play a role here - the breast of the future mother is preparing for such an important role as feeding the baby.

Pregnancy is a condition in which the power of nature is most visible - a woman’s body lives by its own rules, it knows better what it needs and does not ask for opinions on subsequent transformations. Soon after fertilization, the first changes occurring in the chest become noticeable. It can become more intense and even painful. Many women note that the breast during pregnancy becomes heavier. And some notice changes in the nipple, which becomes more sensitive than usual, and the areola acquires a dark color and increases in volume.

Then the chest pregnancy week by week will be less painful. But it will begin to increase in volume. Skin becomes tense, and you can see the network of veins through it. Breast during pregnancy will grow gradually and may at the end of the term increase by three to four sizes. Unfortunately, many women may notice red scars or so-called stretch marks on the skin in this area. They usually appear in those future mothers who have a genetic predisposition to this or those who have gained too much weight in the process of bearing the baby. Therefore, pregnancy is a time when you need to really take care of your breasts - regularly do massage and use special creams and oils. Sometimes it may seem (this applies to subsequent pregnancies) that the breast does not increase at all. Do not worry - the changes will take place after the birth of a baby.

Mid-pregnancy is the time when the breast prepares for milk production. So do not be surprised if a small amount of yellowish-transparent liquid begins to drip from the nipple. This colostrum, or, as it is called, the first milk. If it is not, this does not mean that the woman is poorly fed or will have difficulty while feeding the baby. Sometimes it can happen that colostrum begins to flow during sexual intercourse - to avoid this, you just need to stop breast stimulation.

If breast pain during pregnancy is normal. This circumstance is due to its increase in volume, as well as a deficiency of oxytocin, a neurotransmitter that controls changes in it. After three to four months, the pain should go away. Hormonal changes that occur in the body of a pregnant woman increase blood flow in the body, and thus affect the tissue of the mammary glands, they become sensitive. All this happens in order to block the milk ducts and close the glands. To reduce pain, you first need to buy a new bra. Of course, it may be less sexy, but it will well support and keep the chest from stretch marks. No need to also take painkillers because of the sensitivity. This does not make sense, since the pills will bring relief only for a short time. From the very beginning of pregnancy, you also need to use special cosmetics for breast care for women in a position that is sold in pharmacies. It helps to prevent stretch marks and relieve the itching caused by the stretching.

Be sure to consult a doctor if a woman has noticed a small tightening in the chest. Redness, swelling should also cause concern, and if the breast during pregnancy is particularly painful and accompanied by fever, it can be caused by infection or inflammation.
