Bashkir State Agrarian University is one of the leading universities in the Russian Federation that prepares professional personnel for agriculture. He has his own scientific schools, the teaching staff there is highly qualified.
Place in the world of science
At the Belarusian State Agrarian University, faculties and specialties are in demand by young people, because they have a modern information and technological base. The Agrarian University is also one of the largest agricultural universities in the Russian Federation, a center not only for agricultural education, but also for science. The results of annual monitoring put this university in eighth place among 59 agricultural universities of the country. The BGAU has always been an example of the training and demand for specialists of the highest quality. Faculties and specialties offered to applicants are discussed in this article.
About university
More than 50.5 thousand highly qualified specialists have been trained by a team of university teachers over the years of activity. The names of graduates are especially proud of: Hero of the Soviet Union M. A. Sokolov, Heroes of Socialist Labor R. B. Asaev, M. M. Galiev, R. M. Divaev, S. N. Zainagabdinov, F. I. Mashkin, F. M. Pavlova, B.I. Petrova. Among the graduates there are also ministers and their assistants, as well as many high heads of ministries and departments of the Russian Federation. That is why the BGAU is famous.

Here, professional personnel are trained in their own well-known scientific schools. Among the teachers of BGAU already in 2008 there were 110 doctors of sciences and professors, 350 candidates of sciences and associate professors. In 2014, BGAU was recognized as the best university in the country. It opened as an agricultural institute in July 1930 in the building of the former theological seminary, and in 1993 received the title of university. House number 3 on Karl Marx Street is the address of BGAU. Faculties and specialties necessary for agriculture are waiting for their applicants.
Pool and more
The grand opening of a swimming pool commissioned by the Belarusian State Agrarian University, adjacent to the Youth Palace along the 50th Anniversary of October Street, is a huge celebration for students. The pool is fully consistent with modern requirements: it has eight paths of twenty-five meters deep to six meters, in the same complex, there are gyms, showers, a sauna. There is an underground car park and one hundred parking spaces next to the pool. Planned diving center and sports school. It’s so wonderful to hold student sporting events here! However, citizens can also visit the pool.

At the disposal of the university are six educational and laboratory modern buildings in the city of Ufa and one in the city of Sibay. This is more than 90 thousand square meters. Between themselves, the buildings are connected by ground covered passages. Also on the territory is a stadium with a platform for all kinds of games and competitions and with treadmills. The university has seven well-equipped hostels.
University Objectives
BSAU has eight faculties: forestry and agricultural technology, veterinary medicine and biotechnology, mechanical, construction and environmental engineering, energy, economic, food technology, management and information technology. The main objective of the university has remained the same as always: a steady increase in the quality and effectiveness of the professional training of the diversified, creatively thinking, initiative graduates, whom our agricultural production is waiting for. And the BGAU will cope with this task. Faculties and specialties, exams for admission to which are just around the corner, are waiting for their applicants.

There are 47 departments at eight faculties of the Belarusian State Agrarian University, where more than 6.5 thousand full-time students and about 7 thousand part-time departments study. Everything necessary has been prepared for the students of this university: from original teaching methods to hundreds of textbooks, methodological developments, and study guides created by the teachers themselves. There are also laboratories equipped with the latest science, lecture and computer rooms. Methodological support is provided in all disciplines of the educational process of BGAU. Faculties and specialties, examinations for which are taken by real professionals, are prepared and equipped for each new academic year.
About passing points
By July 25 of each year, a final rating list appears showing the total points for the three entrance exams. Only then can you determine the passing score in the BGAU. Faculties and passing grades are not interconnected in any way: last year’s result, of course, is a good reference point, but no more. In each new year, there may be quite significant changes.
A diploma with honors or a gold medal can give an advantage if other applicants get equal points, and other conditions will be equal. In any case, if the sum of points is equal in all entrance examinations, then applicants who have a higher score on a specialized subject will get an advantage. And only if an equal number of points came out in a specialized subject, do they look at medals and diplomas with honors. So, medalists should not rest on their laurels upon admission to the BGAU. Faculties and passing scores for admission to them - this is what will concern each applicant.
Boys of military age
There is a law on military duty, which says about deferrals. Such a right at the university is received only by students in accredited educational programs in person. But in this case there are conditions:
1. Mastering undergraduate programs, but in the event that no diploma has been received so far: neither a specialist, nor a bachelor, nor a master.
2. If training is under the master's program, but if there is no master’s diploma yet , and admission to the master’s program took place in the year the bachelor’s degree was acquired.
Entrance exams
The majority of applicants who enter the first year of any form of training at the Belarusian State Agrarian University pass entrance exams in the form of an exam, only some categories of applicants pass a written test, which the university conducts independently. In master's program you need to take a comprehensive exam in the main subjects of the direction. Applicants for the second or third year are certified in writing.
Some categories of citizens who can hold written entrance exams:
- Received a complete general secondary education before 1.01.2009;
- having secondary vocational education, entering the program of the corresponding profile;
- having higher vocational education;
- Foreigners;
- Citizens of the Russian Federation with full general secondary education received abroad;
- persons with disabilities (with disabilities in mental and / or physical development: blind, deaf, hard of hearing, visually impaired; with severe speech disorders, with musculoskeletal defects).
If these citizens passed the exam in some subjects this year, then this result is taken into account, and these people are not allowed to take written exams conducted by the university. There are cities where they especially care about people with disabilities, and one of them is the one where the BGAU is located - Ufa.
Faculties
In total, the university has eight faculties and another ninth in absentia. They are not all open at the same time and have a different but always glorious history. In 2001, the faculty of food technology was founded at BSAU. Sectoral training is carried out here in various areas of undergraduate studies. Profiles - technology of winemaking and fermentation, technology of bread, confectionery and pasta - belong to the department of food products from plant materials. The department "Food products from raw materials of animal origin" prepares students for profiles: technology of meat products, technology of dairy products. Future restaurateurs from the Belarusian State Agrarian University are studying at the department of product technology. The Faculty of Food and Masters teaches in the same departments and in the same areas, but even more sophisticatedly.
Foresters and agronomists
The oldest faculty of the university, opened in 1930, is the main one at the Belarusian State Agrarian University, the heart of this agricultural university. As an agronomist, he is the most important person in any agricultural production, and this faculty, which is engaged in agricultural technology and forestry, is the pride of the Belarusian State Agrarian University. The faculties and specialties of Ufa and the whole republic are well aware. There are five laboratories, a cathedral library, greenhouses, and there are collection nurseries for vegetable and field crops.
There are three departments, and they are devoted to agriculture and crop production, soil science, botany, landscape design and forestry. The following specialized disciplines are taught: feed production, crop production, land reclamation, fruit growing, vegetable growing, viticulture, selection and seed growing, beet growing, closed-field vegetable growing technology, floriculture, essential oil and medicinal plants, decorative gardening, the history of scientific agronomy and methodology, innovative technologies are also being studied.
Livestock specialists and veterinarians
At the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, the material and scientific-pedagogical base is very strong and modern. There are four departments: biochemistry, physiology and animal feeding; morphology, pharmacy, pathology and non-communicable diseases; animal breeding and private zootechnics; pet hygiene, infectious diseases and vetsanekspertizy.
Profiles at the departments are also interesting: cynology, tourism, processing of agricultural products and others. Like some other BSAU faculties formed by the merger, the veterinary faculty prepares not only veterinarians, but it’s more difficult by name. In 2012, the faculties of biological, technological and veterinary medicine merged to make such an extensive and remarkably equipped faculty.
Surveyors, land reclamators, builders
There are 55 teachers at the Faculty of Construction and Environmental Management, including 13 professors and doctors of sciences, 24 associate professors and candidates of sciences. They train 755 students only full-time. Five main specializations at the faculty: land management, land cadastre, city cadastre, environmental management, industrial construction and civil engineering.
Undergraduate works in four areas: cadastres and land management, construction, water use and environmental management, remote sensing and geodesy. The faculty has courses on retraining, advanced training, as well as the Institute of Environmental Management. Known for scientific achievements and outside the republic.
Machinists and motorists
By 1950, there was a need to significantly expand the base of complex mechanization in agricultural production. The need for engineering personnel of precisely the agricultural profile has sharply increased. Therefore, the BGAU now has a mechanical faculty, which has long acquired an excellent material and technical base. There are three extensive machine rooms with mechanical workshops, many scientific and educational laboratories with modern equipment, several computer classes.
Students use modern tractors, cars and agricultural machinery, as well as many equipment. Moreover, the building up of this base continues, the faculty is equipped with the most modern imported and domestic equipment. Here, applicants will be able, in addition to obtaining specialized knowledge and basic higher education, to participate in educational programs and internship abroad, to qualify as a tractor driver and category “B” driver, to work in student construction teams, to do research and development.
Programmers and managers
The Faculty of Management and Information Technologies appeared in 2005. It prepares bachelors and highly qualified specialists who know the organization, functioning and improvement of municipal and public administration systems, who are able to analyze, create and implement, as well as accompany process-oriented information systems in economics, business, finance and accounting.
Economists and managers
The opening of the Faculty of Economics in 1966 is associated with the demand for an economist's specialty in organizing agriculture. Therefore, now the BSAU has a faculty of economics. There are two directions in the preparation of bachelors. The first is the economy itself, where the economics of organizations and enterprises, finance and credit, accounting, audit, analysis, as well as taxes and taxation, are profiled. The second direction is management, profiling production management and financial management. Masters are engaged in both, in the direction of "Economics and Management".
Power engineers
This faculty appeared in 1998 under a different name, but in 2007 replaced it, and the BSAU energy faculty appeared. Here, specialists are trained in the areas of electrification and automation of agriculture, energy supply for enterprises, agricultural engineering, and heat power engineering. The faculty prepares engineers for agricultural electricity supply, electrification of technological processes, energy supply for agricultural enterprises and public utilities.
