Historical facts
This Grand Circus was designed by talented engineers Efim Petrovich Vulykhoy and Yakov Borisovich Beropolsky, and subsequently built under their watchful guidance. Its grand opening took place in the spring of 1971.
From 1978 and for the next five years, the Bolshoi Moscow Circus was headed by the famous folk artist Evgeny Timofeevich Milayev on Vernadsky Avenue, who, in addition, was still a Hero of Socialist Labor.
When in the eighties of the last century the circus building on Tsvetochny Boulevard was closed for overhaul lasting about four years, this cultural institution remained the only one in the capital that continued its performances.
Today the Grand Circus is an independent entertainment institution with its own outstanding masters, talented choreographers, directors, as well as unique directors and unsurpassed musicians. At each of its spectacular performances, the Big Moscow State Circus can bring together more than three thousand people in the auditorium. How to get there
The Grand Moscow State Circus is located in the south-west of the capital, or rather, in the Gagarinsky district, and its botanical garden is Moscow University.
