Cake "Potato" at home is very easy and fast. It is also worth noting that such a dessert requires the use of only inexpensive and simple ingredients that can be found in any store.
Currently, there are many different recipes for this sweet and tasty product, however we will present you only a classic version of the preparation based on breadcrumbs.
Classic Potato Cake
Essential Ingredients:
- crackers - 1 kg;
- condensed milk - 1 jar;
- fresh butter - 120 g;
- walnuts - 60-70 g (optional);
- cocoa powder - 3 full large spoons;
- vanilla sugar - 10 g;
- dark, and preferably dark chocolate without additives in the form of nuts, raisins, etc. - 1 bar;
- fresh fat milk - 50 ml.
Base preparation process
Typically, a Potato cake at home is made using purchased shortbread cookies (such as Yubileinoe). However, such a dessert may have a rather pronounced aroma of this sweet product. Therefore, we suggest using sweet or fresh crackers instead of cookies. They can be purchased ready-made in the store, or you can make them yourself from butter buns.
Thus, dried
flour products should be crushed several times in a meat grinder or in a blender until very fine crumbs are formed. If it is large, then the home-made Potato cake will turn out not so beautiful and mouth-watering, like a similar store product.
Once the main ingredient for the dessert is ready, it should be poured into a large bowl, and then add cocoa powder, vanilla sugar, condensed milk and a finely grated bar of dark chocolate. All ingredients should be thoroughly mixed with a spoon and immediately begin to process the butter. Cooking fat is required to melt on gas, slightly cool, and then add fresh milk there and pour the resulting mass into breadcrumbs.
To make the Potato cake tasty at home, you need to stir the base until smooth and sticky. If desired, a small amount of walnuts can be added to such a mass. But before that, they should be thoroughly washed, dried, slightly fried, and then slightly crushed using a mortar or rolling pin.
Dessert making
As a result of mixing all the ingredients, you should form a dark chocolate mass, which easily takes the desired shape.
