blue stomatitis

Stomatitis and its symptoms

The name stomatitis comes from the Greek language. Stoma - means mouth. Symptoms of this disease may be as follows:

  • the mucous membrane is swollen, it is covered with white or yellow plaque;
  • white sores of various sizes form in the mouth;
  • body temperature is high, it is difficult to knock down with drugs;
  • may bleed gums;
  • a pronounced unpleasant odor appears.

Weak, isolated manifestations of stomatitis can pass by themselves, in about a week. But it is better to consult a doctor, especially if a small child suffers.

Stomatitis treatment methods

Very often, the doctor will tell the patient that bluing will help stomatitis. But what is it? Are we really talking about the blue that grandmothers added to the white paint when whitewashing the ceilings? Of course not. This is not household blue, but methylene blue or iodide starch. It is a strong antiseptic that neutralizes pathogenic foci. Bluing from stomatitis is not the only drug that helps fight the disease, but it is rightly considered the most effective.

In addition to bluing, painkillers for ulcers, rinses or antibiotics can be prescribed (if the condition is running).

Features of medical bluing

Methylene blue for stomatitis has been used for many years. It produces insoluble compounds with a protein of a pathogenic organism. This compound causes the death of harmful microflora, and the person recovers. There are no traces of sores in the mouth . The treatment of blue stomatitis is also justified by the fact that the drug does not enter the bloodstream at all when it is applied to the mucosa. So the liver and other internal organs do not suffer.

How to use the drug for adults

Since high fever rises with this disease, the doctor prescribes antipyretics. But this is not a treatment for stomatitis, but general safety measures for the body. But for treatment, blue is prescribed for stomatitis. The instruction to which indicates that an adult patient should repeatedly treat the affected area of the mucous membrane. Processing is carried out up to 15 times a day. Please note: the oral cavity is treated with a 1% aqueous solution. Do not confuse it with methylene blue alcohol.

How to use blue for small patients

Bluing with stomatitis in children is used differently than in adults. To begin with, babies should not process sores so often. This is done 4 times a day, after meals.

If stomatitis is caused by herpes, then the treatment of the oral cavity can be carried out up to 5 times. On mucous membranes, only an aqueous solution can be used.

treatment of stomatitis blue

To treat infants, blue stomatitis is applied to the nipples of a nursing mother. This is done so as not to injure the delicate mucous membrane of the baby with a bandage, swab or cotton swab.

Medical experiment

In the mid-twentieth century, an experiment was conducted at one of the medical institutes in Russia. A group of 86 children from one and a half to ten years was allocated. Children had severe signs of stomatitis. 56 people had an aphthous form, 13 had an ulcerative form, and in 17 patients, stomatitis arose as an allergy to taking medication.

The children were fully examined, the causative agents of stomatitis were established using laboratory tests. All of them underwent local treatment with methylene blue, but in different forms.

The youngest group, in which there were children from one and a half years old, is a spray based on iodide starch. The middle group, from two years old, received treatment in the form of applications. Processing was carried out daily, the first day in a medical facility, then at home.

The condition of children in the acute stage of stomatitis with high fever and enlarged lymph nodes after treatment with methylene blue improved on the third day, and recovery occurred on the 6-7th day. Children with mild stomatitis were completely healthy after three days.

In parallel, doctors observed a group of children who were prescribed antibiotic treatment of stomatitis in the clinic. Recovery of babies occurred on the 9-10th day.

methylene blue with stomatitis

The experiment proved that the treatment of stomatitis blue gives good results. An "aqueous solution of methylene blue" was recommended for use in children's clinics and hospitals. However, for some unknown reason, this drug has not received well-deserved popularity. Young parents prefer to treat stomatitis in children with new-fangled drugs. And they look at low-cost medicines from the youth of their mothers with disbelief. The fact that it must be manufactured in special pharmacies is also depriving the drug of popularity, and new drugs can simply be bought at any pharmacy. However, only methyl blue, i.e. medical blue, can offer a high-quality antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and wound healing effect in one bottle.
