Parking rules

Very often a motorist is in a situation where he learns to drive easily, but parking rules are hard enough for him.

Novice drivers sometimes have difficulty distinguishing between such concepts as stopping the vehicle and parking it.

Even those who have been driving an β€œiron horse” for many years have not always correctly determined where it is possible and where it is impossible to stop. Evidence of this is the numerous cars stopped on the streets wherever.

In order to correctly differentiate parking rules , you need to clearly distinguish between how it differs from parking.

Firstly, these maneuvers take a different time: if the standing process lasts no more than five minutes, then this is only a stop, but if it is longer, then this is the parking lot covered by Article 1.2 of the Rules of the Road, namely, the rules for parking a car.

The main criteria of these rules:

- The car should be parked only on the side of the road, and if there is none, on the roadway, as close to its edge as possible. If the distance to the edge of the road is more than a meter, then this will be considered a violation.

- You need to park the car in parallel to the edge of the road, even a small angle is a deviation from the norm.

- Do not park the car close to a public transport stop, near an intersection, turn, or at the point of entry or exit. This can create an emergency.

- Even if the driver is in a hurry and stops for a moment, it is forbidden to leave the car in the middle of the road, especially in big cities, including in case of emergency. Such a misfortune driver at best is simply threatened with a fine, but very often such β€œiron horses” are towed by a tow truck to the penalty area.

- Parking rules prohibit parking at stops, crossings, bridges, overpasses. You should always pay attention to signs prohibiting or allowing parking. In many megacities in winter in certain places, parking on the sidelines is allowed on even or odd days, due to the operation of snowplows or other equipment.

One of the places of increased danger for cars is large parking. Many factors must be taken into account, for example, the passage of other vehicles, parking conditions, exit from the parking lot, the correct stopping of other cars, proximity to neighboring cars.

When parking at a shopping center , parking rules provide for a certain distance between cars so that when loading purchases, they will not damage neighboring cars.

The most unpredictable permitted parking spaces are parking at the porches, near buildings, at pedestrian borders. You always need to at least skim through the space around, because there is always the danger of advertising stands, icicles, construction waste, old trees falling on your car.

In addition, the driver needs to learn the rules of parking the car in reverse, as well as develop the skill of entering into parking pockets. Today, this can be learned in driving schools in just a few days.

There are certain parking rules in the courtyards of residential buildings. And if the driver wants to just start the engine and go to work, and not run around the apartment building in search of the owner of an interfering car, then you just need to specify the places where you can freely stop until the morning.

You can not park in areas where there are green lawns or plantings, as well as on sidewalks or in places where it is possible to block the passage to a residential building.

Currently, many large cities are creating paid parking where you can stop your vehicle for a certain time. However, as a rule, such parking lots are not responsible for the safety of the car and therefore are not particularly popular among drivers.
