Three years later, the institution became the owner of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee award for the courage and courage of its wards.

In 1946-1947, the current colony was in the city of Frunze (now Bishkek), after which he returned to his rightful place - in Ryazan.

History of the school: post-war years

In 1958, the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union decided to reform the existing educational institution into the Higher Combined Arms Command School. The term of study was increased to four years, and the diplomas received by graduates became equivalent to any document on higher education. The training of students remained at the highest level.

Commander of the Airborne Forces V.F. Margelov then took the initiative to unite the Ryazan and Alma-Ata schools. The country's leadership approved this proposal, and a year later, paratroopers from Alma-Ata appeared in Ryazan. Since then, the school was constantly under the personal control and guardianship of V.F. Margelova, thanks to this it gained popularity and expanded its territory.

In the 1960s, the school began to actively learn foreign languages, and foreigners were also allowed to enter the educational institution. In 1968, the Ryazan Military School of the Airborne Forces was re-awarded the Order of the Red Banner. In 1989, Polish military personnel underwent successful training at the school, and the People's Republic of Poland awarded the school with the Commander’s Cross.

RVVDKU (Ryazan) differs from all other military schools in that the training process is completely different here. The training is organized in such a way that all students receive not only theoretical, but also practical skills, and quite often this happens within the same lesson. There are practically no divisions into lecture and practical courses.

The duration of training is 5 years for cadets, and those who want to become officers will have to study a little longer - 5 years and 10 months. Cadets study for 10 semesters, at the end of each of them it is necessary to take tests and exams, this is similar to an examination session in civilian higher educational institutions.

Theoretical classes include attending lectures, writing labs and tests and attending extra-curricular consultations. Practical work includes internships, group classes and exercises. From the second year, all cadets must defend term papers on topics previously agreed with the supervisor.

For all five years of study, cadets spend more than 12 months on field exits. Every year, cadets go on a thirty-day vacation in summer and a fourteen-day vacation in winter. Those cadets who graduated with honors get an advantage in choosing the place where they will serve, according to the existing order.
