It would seem: here it is a time when you can fully enjoy the fruits of progress, however ... Sometimes you have to figure out why the printer does not print. The reasons can be very different: from the simplest, which can be independently eliminated in a couple of minutes, to the most complex, in which the restoration of the device’s performance is possible only in the service center. In this article, we will answer the question of what to do if an inkjet type printer does not print.
Paper
All modern models are equipped with a paper feed system. Now it’s enough to place a pack of A4 sheets in a special tray, and the printer will take them one at a time when printing. However, not everyone knows that if the printer does not print, then this node must be checked. The fact is that a special sensor is installed in the sheet feeding system, which determines whether the tray is full or empty. In most models, it is electromechanical, so it is not too reliable. Thus, if, for example, a Canon printer does not print, and an empty tray lamp flashes on the panel (although there are sheets there), you need to take a pack of 20-80 A4 and place it in the tray, and then remove it. This must be done several times. This is usually enough. Our tip: the tray should always be full. Avoid working with 1-5 sheets in it.
Locks
Some users, after trying to install the ink supply system in cartridges on their own, are faced with the fact that the printer does not print: everything seems to be assembled correctly, but printing does not go. Often this happens due to the displacement of the head block in the off state of the printing device, due to which the positioning of the carriage fails. In this case, you need to disconnect the printer from the power supply, and then turn it on again after a minute. If there is a reset button on the device’s panel, you need to use it. Do not forget that if the housing cover is not tightly closed, the printer will not print.

The popularity of inkjet printers is largely due to the possibility of self-refilling ink cartridges, which significantly reduces the cost of prints. However, if earlier manufacturers struggled with these recommendations and refused warranty service, claiming that third-party paints could damage the nozzle heads, now a more advanced solution is used. For example, if the Epson printer does not print , and the cartridge has recently been refilled, then you should know that a special chip is installed on the inkwells, which tracks the amount of ink consumed. Obviously, if the flow meter greatly exceeds the capacity of the cartridge, this means that refilling has been completed and printing is blocked. On some models, the counter in the chip can be reset / frozen programmatically. A more cardinal solution is to replace the chip with a reprogrammed one. The operation is paid, but with large print volumes it pays off quickly. Without it, working with CISS is not possible in some models.
Contacts
Signals are transmitted to the heads by means of copper contact pads. Gradually, they oxidize, which can lead to an increase in resistance and suppression of signals. The areas need to be carefully wiped with a stationery eraser.
