Since the nineties of the last century, every Soviet summer resident and farmer had a great opportunity to significantly improve the quality and speed of garden work with a device such as the Ural walk-behind tractor.
He was the first in his class, due to which he received mass distribution throughout the
Soviet Union. For all the years of production, the Ural walk-behind tractor has sold over 130 thousand copies. Despite the wide assortment of modern
agricultural equipment, the Ural to this day remains a relevant and sought-after machine for many farmers. He received such high recognition due to the ideal balance of technical characteristics, quality and power.
What is special about the Ural walk-behind tractor?
The manual states that this tool can perform any type of agricultural work in the shortest possible time. This performance was achieved due to the powerful
gasoline engine, which developed all 120-kilogram equipment to a speed of 15 kilometers per hour. The gasoline unit had 5 horsepower at its disposal, which, by today's standards, is quite small. However, this capacity was enough to transport 500 kg of sand and cultivate a hectare of land. Thanks to these characteristics, the Ural walk-behind tractor has become legendary for many farmers. He is a leader among all domestic agricultural machinery.
Walk-behind tractor in operation
In addition to a powerful motor, this mechanism has a wide track, which can be adjusted depending on the type of terrain and operating conditions. Due to this, when hilling beet and potato root crops, it became faster and easier to use. In general, the track gauge could vary within a few tens of centimeters, so that the processing of all types of vegetable crops was very fast and high-quality (even compared to imported counterparts).
Motoblock versatility
As for the scope, this mechanism was not as universal as, for example, its Belarusian competitor MTZ (Minsk Tractor Plant). The Urals could only process the garden and transport 500 kg cargoes on a trailer. No attachments and nozzles for snow removal or grass mowing were developed at that time. Therefore, such a device is suitable for those who want to operate it only in the summertime for processing the garden and transporting small loads. However, if you want the walk-behind tractor to also function as a snow blower in winter, you will have to
refuse to buy this device and purchase something imported or the same Belarusian MTZ. Ural is simply not intended for such purposes.
Price
At the moment, the motor blocks under consideration are not mass-produced, therefore, they can only be purchased on the secondary market. On average, their cost is about 25-29 thousand rubles. However, it should be remembered that the engine is not eternal, and soon the entire Ural motor-block may fail. Repair costs a lot of money, so when buying a device it would be more advisable to focus on goods with imported engines of Japanese or Korean production.
