Sufficiently high cost and excessive functionality limit the scope of use of the Canon Imagerunner 2520. It is certainly not suitable for home use because the declared monthly print volume is quite large, as well as the cost. Therefore, it is most optimal to use this MFP in offices of small (up to 10 workplaces with a PC) and medium (up to 25-30 workplaces with computers). Also quite successfully, the hero of this review can be used in large offices (up to 100 jobs with computers). But in this case, 2520 will only partially cover the document flow of such an organization. An additional area of use for such MFPs is copy centers. On the scale of such an organization, the capabilities of such a multifunctional device will be quite enough to solve a wide range of tasks.

In this case, 2520 is connected directly to the nearest personal computer and the latter will already play the role of the print server. At first glance, it seems strange that the manufacturer equipped this multifunction device with another wired USB port of the outdated version 1.0. But in practice, this allows you to connect 2 computers to the MFP immediately and output the necessary documentation from any of them. Also, this connection allows you to get the so-called dual print server, which boasts a higher degree of survivability and reliability.
Resolution in various modes
The highest resolution for this device is 1200X1200. It can only be obtained in printer mode, and this is enough to get high-quality printed documents. But in the scanner or copier mode, the 2520 can only provide a resolution of 600X600. But again, this is enough to obtain relatively high-quality paper or digital copies.

An important advantage against competing devices is the list of supported formats in the Canon 2520. The settings in this case are limited to the size of the A3 format. At the software level, support for the most common smaller paper page sizes is implemented. Also included are the main envelope sizes. Reviews on the Canon IR 2520 draw attention to two important drawbacks. The first of them is incomplete basic equipment, which does not initially include an A3 format tray. This accessory must be purchased separately at an additional cost. The second important minus is the high cost, which is currently set at around $ 700. Of course, you can find more affordable solutions of a similar class, but they certainly will not have such an excellent balance of technical specifications, a list of formats and reliability. Therefore, such a price is entirely justified. But the advantages in this model of MFPs are: high speed, support for large enough formats, an impressive list of interfaces and low costs for consumables.
