The Ural Railway College (Yekaterinburg) is one of the most respected specialized institutions in the country, within the walls of which specialists are trained (without them, the effective functioning of railway transport is impossible). History reference
The railway college in Yekaterinburg is the successor to the factory apprenticeship school, organized in 1930, after the construction of the strategically important Sverdlovsk-Sortirovochnaya station. After the war, FZU was reformed into FZO No. 15 (factory-training school).
In 1963, the Federal Labor Law received a higher status of the city vocational school (GPTU No. 61). The quality of education has significantly improved, the volume of classes has increased: the training period from 6-10 months has increased to 1.5-2 years. In 1978, the institution was renamed SPTU No. 61 - it became possible for former eighth-graders to receive not only technical, but also complete secondary education. In the same year, a railway college in Yekaterinburg acquired a new spacious building. Bilimbaevskaya street became the site of the building with locksmith and electrical workshops, grinding and mechanical departments.
1991 was the starting point of a new phase of the institution. The vocational school has become a lyceum. And in 2005 - a technical school.

Railway College in Yekaterinburg consists of 4 buildings:

All buildings were built in 1978 from reinforced concrete (except for the hostel) and are typical. In the main building there are educational and administrative rooms. The hostel is designed for 360 people (160 rooms), it also has administrative rooms.
Material and technical base
The railway transport technical school (Yekaterinburg) is equipped with 25 classes, 14 of them are equipped with laboratory assistants. There are specialized offices: the mechanization of track and construction works, electronics, microelectronics and automation, engineering graphics, the general course of railways, electrical engineering, technical mechanics, the design of rolling stock (electric locomotives, electric trains, wagons), technical operation of railway and traffic safety, organization transportation of goods, railway track and artificial structures, maintenance and repair of the railway track, organization and construction technology, geodesy.
URZhT has at its disposal 4 workshops (366 m 2 ): machining, metalwork, turning and wiring, equipped with electric operating equipment. There are also 7 laboratories (540 m 2 ): automatic brakes, electric devices, train organization, automated control systems, train control systems, traffic safety laboratory.
The total training area of UrZhT is 5655 m², including:
- cabinet area - 1731 m²;
- educational-laboratory and industrial premises - 3923 m².
Training equipment
Many come to study in the city of Yekaterinburg. The railway technical school has the necessary equipment to ensure the implementation of the declared educational programs in full. All rooms are equipped with the necessary furniture, laboratory and computer equipment. In total, there are 120 computers, 3 projectors, 3 interactive whiteboards used in classrooms and laboratories. Access to the Internet is available in computer rooms, a laboratory of automated control systems, a library, teaching and administrative rooms.
Security
To ensure the safety of the premises of the technical school and the hostel are equipped with:
- Fire warning system VERS-PK24.
- Detectors (smoke, heat, flame, manual).
- Light panel “Lightning-12” with the inscription “EXIT”.
- Voice annunciator.
The technical and dormitory security points are equipped with telephone communications. The buildings have 12 video surveillance cameras with recording and constant viewing. The record is stored on disk for 30 days, in the future it is planned to increase the number of cameras in order to cover all floors of the hostel. Outside there are 4 cameras covering the entire perimeter of buildings. An agreement has been concluded with the private security service. Two buildings are equipped with an alarm button, fenced around the perimeter.
During the academic year, training is being held for officials, KNS, members of emergency ASF and the permanent staff of the technical school for the 14-hour program "Civil Defense". Classes are held with the students of the technical school according to the life safety program, conversations, lectures and briefings on the behavior on water bodies in the swimming season and on ice, as well as on actions during terrorist acts. Once a year, a KSH is held on the topic “Fire in the building of a technical school, general evacuation by a fire alarm signal”. Children's Day is being prepared and held.
Infrastructure
Physical education classes are held in the sports (339 m 2 ) and gym (24 m 2 ), which are fully equipped with the necessary equipment. On the territory of the technical school there is a sports zone on which the appropriate equipment is installed.
The railway technical school in Yekaterinburg has a dining room with a total area of 616 m2 for 200 seats, a buffet, specially equipped rooms (workshops) equipped with the necessary cold-processing equipment.
The educational institution operates a medical center. Medical care is provided by a medical assistant of the highest category. All specialized training rooms, laboratories and workshops have medical kits for primary care. In accordance with the schedule, medical examinations of students and routine vaccination are carried out.

In total, 105 employees and 12 people work as external part-time employees in UrZhT. In connection with the ever-changing educational conditions and in order to improve or confirm the qualification category during the inter-certification period, teachers of UrZhT need to improve their qualifications. It is organized through seminars held within the college, and educational programs implemented at the Institute for the Development of Education (DPO of the Sverdlovsk Region) and the Center for Education Development "Universum" (Chelyabinsk).
Admission
You can enter the railway college in Yekaterinburg after the 9th grade and after the 11th (in this case, the training period is reduced). According to the data for 2012, in the Ural Railway Transport in the first year 4 groups of “state employees” (120 people) and 5 groups on a paid basis (167 people) were formed. The total number of students of all flows was 892 people (2012), of which 391 were full-time students. The educational institution works in one shift, with six school days. For workers AHC provides a five-day work week.
