First attempts to make money

The desire of a future millionaire has always had a desire to earn money on his own. While still at the institute, Boris Titov tried to trade records. In the late 70s and early 80s, recordings, especially by foreign performers, were a “terrible” deficit. The Titov family had no problems with their acquisition: parents brought records from business trips abroad.

After the third year, a student with knowledge of foreign languages was invited to the Lubyanka. The KGB needed such specialists, and tried to recruit many of Titov’s classmates. Boris Titov was suitable in all respects. He successfully passed the interview, it remained to undergo a medical commission. The young man decides to consult with his father, who dissuaded his son from such a step. Boris listened to the advice and refused.

Titov Initiatives

The economic proposals initiated by Boris Titov, the ombudsman, often received mixed reviews. Back in 2009, he proposed replacing unwillingness to serve in the army with monetary compensation. The proceeds, in his opinion, will go to the state, and not to the pockets of officials. Double benefit: fight against corruption and replenishment of the state treasury.

At the suggestion of Titov, a new union, Zodernization.RU, was created. Grigory Yavlinsky, the ex-chairman of the Yabloko party, and Vladislav Inozemtsev, editor-in-chief of the Free Thought magazine, supported the union and actively participated in its creation.
