Kazan Cathedral

Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh
The first mention of the temple occurs in 1888, then it was a small wooden church. The stone temple was erected in 1908. It was decorated with valuable wood, mosaic icons, semiprecious stones from the Urals.
In the Soviet years, there was a poultry farm, a tire repair plant, and a transport agency. Naturally, the expensive finish was not preserved.

Church of the Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva Friday
The church was built on the banks of the Volga in 1915. Despite the fact that the building looks modern, it is one of the oldest temples in the city.
Brick walls are lined with elegant vertical ledges. Window openings are decorated with multi-stage cornices and pilasters. In the eastern part of the temple is a gilded iconostasis.
After the revolution, the church was completely ruined, but the building survived. At different times, there was a working club, a shelter, storage facilities.
In 1991, the church was returned to the Orthodox Church and restored. Today, the Paraskeva Fridays Church in Volgograd is a full-fledged active church in which services are held daily.

St. Nicholas Church
The Volgograd Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built in 1896. It was built in the eclectic style, combining several architectural directions at once. Red brick temple. Crowned by its bulbous dome. Once upon a time, the refectory adjoined the building, which has not been preserved to this day.
Despite the fact that the church is small, a blissful and solemn appearance comes from it.
In 1939 the temple was closed. He returned to his activities only in 1989. Now it has been restored and services are being performed in it. Under his care is a local hospital.

Church of St. John the Baptist
This church in Volgograd became not only the very first temple in the history of the city, but also its first structure. In 1589, in honor of the beginning of the construction of Tsaritsyno, a small church was built, which burned down in a fire 10 years later.
In its place in 1615 another was built, which in turn was replaced by a stone one in 1664. It was the first stone building in Tsaritsyno. It was very often visited by Peter I.
After the revolution, all values ββwere taken out of the temple building, and the church itself was blown up in 1932.
The restoration of the church began in 1995. For the revival of the very first church in Volgograd, money was collected by the whole city. In December 1997, the Church of St. John the Baptist became part of the Ascension Monastery for women, but its doors are open daily for everyone.

Church of St. John of Kronstadt
The history of the church begins in the winter of 1991, when the first stone in the foundation of the parish was laid and consecrated. The construction of the temple was completed in 1996.
The building is built in the Russian-Byzantine style and quite roomy. To date, work on the improvement of the temple continues, but despite this, both the upper and lower tiers are working - the statutory worship is performed daily.
The parish provides material and clothing assistance to low-income and large families. Priests are actively collaborating with the city center of social protection.
There is a Sunday school and a summer camp at the temple. A school of choir art has been established.
