Vaginal discharge for the female body is the norm and an indicator of the coordinated work of the reproductive system. The amount and concentration of excretion may vary depending on factors such as the onset of ovulation, menstruation, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and hormonal medications. So, yellow discharge on shorts is often a sign of an inflammatory process or the presence of diseases of the reproductive system. The most common causes of these secretions may be:
- The development of bacterial vaginitis. The disease is accompanied by abundant yellow discharge along with burning, itching and unpleasant sensations that accompany sexual intercourse.
- Colpitis, which is also characterized by the occurrence of edema and itching in the external genital area. This disease can be accompanied by pain associated with sexual intercourse, and periodic pain below the navel.
- Cervical erosion. In this case, the discharge is not abundant, but sexual intercourse may result in bloody discharge.
- Acute and chronic salpingitis. In the acute form of the disease, yellow discharge on the underpants is abundant, and in the chronic, very scarce. There is also some additional evidence of this disease: painful menstruation, flatulence, back pain and painful sexual intercourse, after which there may be spotting.
- Acute and chronic adnexitis. The acute form of the disease is characterized by the presence of pusiform abundant yellow discharge, while in the chronic discharge it is scarce, but they cause a burning sensation in the area of the vagina and labia.
- Pus discharge also accompanies some sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydia). As a rule, burning symptoms, itching, and pain that accompany sexual intercourse appear as additional symptoms.
- An allergic reaction that can be caused by improperly selected pads, tampons, contraceptives, hygiene and cosmetics, underwear made from synthetic materials.
