Automobile Maintenance Required for Reliable Operation

Finally, the dream of your new car came true and now it is with you. To celebrate, the first time you did not part with him at all. Therefore, it is imperceptible that a 2000 km figure is dialed on his speedometer. It is at this moment that one should be careful. Although almost all motorists know that the first maintenance of cars should be carried out after 10 or 15 thousand kilometers (depending on the requirements of the manufacturer), there are a number of works that it is advisable to perform after a run of 2000 kilometers.

First of all, you need to inspect the car, check its general technical condition and tighten, if necessary, the fastening of the units. Inspect the technical condition and battery mount. To check the coolant level, you need to inspect the expansion tank, the level should not exceed the mark "MAX" and be 3-4 cm above the mark "MIN". Mandatory is also monitoring tire pressure and checking external lighting devices. Such unscheduled vehicle maintenance will give you confidence in its reliability and the safety of its operation.

In the future, during operation, it is necessary to undergo regular vehicle maintenance. Such a service consists in the fact that a whole range of obligatory service operations is required, which are provided by the manufacturer. Maintenance should not only provide, but also guarantee the safety, comfort and environmental friendliness of the car. Typically, the frequency of maintenance and the volume of operations required to complete the operation depend on the number of kilometers traveled, as well as on the period of time elapsed since the previous maintenance.

However, the conditions in which the vehicle is operated are also very important in our time. Of great importance is riding on dusty and dirty roads, operation with increased loads: riding on mountain roads or with frequent stops (urban cycle). It is also necessary to take into account the towing of a trailer, participation in sports, operation in regions with high humidity and extreme temperatures, all this affects the length of the period during which car maintenance should be carried out.

Typically, the timing of this service is indicated in the service book. Most cars have a special indicator that lights up after the manufacturer has set the interservice interval, that is, takes into account the period of run after the last β€œreset” of the indicator. But already in many new car models, such indicators are able to take into account not only the mileage, but also the time, as well as the conditions in which the car is operated. In this case, it will already be necessary to focus not on the distance that the car has passed, but on the readings of this indicator.

The regulations for car maintenance require two types of procedures. The first group of procedures includes the replacement of consumable fluids and materials: oil and air filters of the engine, fuel filter, filters of other car systems as necessary, spark plugs, engine oil and oil in other units, brake and transmission fluids. The second, no less important group of procedures is the mandatory monitoring of the state of all units, components and elements for the safety of car operation. This is primarily the brake system, engine, steering, suspension and transmission. Full auto maintenance consists in performing both types of these procedures, they are its mandatory and integral part. For example, it would not make sense to replace the brake fluid if the brake discs are worn above normal. That is, only the mandatory implementation of all the foregoing works ensures the reliability of the operation of the car.
