The most common problem with injection engines is pollution during operation. Therefore, every fifteen to twenty thousand kilometers of the vehicle requires cleaning the injector and nozzles. Due to the high temperature in the engine, after it is stopped, gasoline does not completely disappear, but is partially deposited on the walls of internal parts. This can severely damage the motor. Is it possible to wash the injector with your own hands?
To clean it from contamination, there are two ways: liquid washing and ultrasonic
nozzle cleaning.
The easiest way is liquid washing. True, this method is very doubtful in its functionality. It consists in the fact that a special cleaning fluid is poured into the fuel tank. However, doubts arise: will all the details of the fuel and motor system withstand the action of these fluids and what is the effectiveness of this entire procedure. Ultrasonic flushing is the best option, but you can not do without special equipment. Such cleaning of injectors is carried out only in specialized services.
Cleaning the injector yourself
You will need an electrical tape, a 12V bulb, a half-meter hose, a doorbell button , a pair of carburetor cleaner spray cans (sprayed).
Next, we drop the pressure in the fuel rail. This is done very simply: there is a special bolt on the ramp, under which you need to put some small rag, and then slightly unscrew the bolt so that the fuel starts to ooze. When it stops to flow out, then you need to tighten the bolt back - the pressure is relieved. After this procedure, unscrew the screws securing the fuel rail and nozzles with a manifold, and remove our entire structure.
The nozzles are arranged in this way: on one side there is a feed channel, and on the other, there is a spray gun, which may turn out to be
brown oil coated. On some of these parts, a strainer is located on the channel side, which should also be cleaned.
After that, it is necessary to assemble the design that will clean our nozzles. To do this, reliably connect the spray can tube to the nozzle feed channel. Sometimes you have to use electrical tape or even make an adapter out of the hose.
Injector Cleaning:
Next, you need to assemble the electrical circuit with which we will clean the nozzles. So, with one wire we connect the โ+โ of the battery and the prepared bulb and the โ+โ on the nozzle. The second wire is the โ-โ of the battery with a doorbell and the โ-โ nozzle. After that, we briefly press on our spray can connected to the nozzle and create some pressure, press the bell button - the nozzle opens - and a small uneven flame flies out of it. We continue the procedure until the flame becomes uniform.
This completes the cleaning of the injector. After the procedure, turning on the ignition to increase pressure, check all joints for leaks. Tighten everything if necessary. If this does not help, then you will have to change the sealing materials to new ones.
When the leak tests were successful, and the engine runs uniformly, you can be glad because you correctly cleaned the injector.
