The birth of alma mater
Russian State University of Oil and Gas Gubkin was formed in the 20s of the XX century. As is known, after the revolution, Lenin initiated the large-scale industrialization of the country. Branches
Even during the USSR, the question arose of the restructuring of the educational process. The head of Orenburggazprom Vysheslavtsev Yuri Fedorovich requested the creation of the Orenburg branch. His initiative was supported by Viktor Chernomyrdin , who was then Deputy Minister of the Gas Industry of the Soviet Union. The branch was established in 1984.
Orenburg branch

In RGUNIG educational and scientific programs are implemented along the entire technological chain of oil and gas production. For example, in 2006-2009, the university, together with the technopark, carried out innovative research and development work in the amount of over 3 billion rubles.
Most scientific and pedagogical schools of the university have international recognition. About one thousand foreign students and graduate students from 60 countries of the world study at the university, which makes up 10% of the student population.
Training and Research Center
The UIC was established in 1987 and annually organizes the training of about 6,000 specialists at most Russian oil and gas companies and foreign partners.
