Salad "General": recipes with chicken, meat and just vegetables

Among a variety of puff salads in second place (after the "coat", of course) is the salad "General". Moreover, this dish has several options, quite different in composition. In most cases, as already mentioned, the General salad is collected in layers - but this is not a prerequisite. The only thing that unites all the "general" dishes is their invariably successful taste.

This is the most popular recipe. Chicken fillet is taken for it and cooked in accordance with all the rules until tender - in salted water, with lavrushka and peppercorns. In cold form, it is cut into neat pieces (disassembled into fibers will not look so aesthetically pleasing). The onion crumbles at the discretion of the cook - you can half the rings, you can finely, then pickle for about five minutes in water with vinegar (one to one proportion). If you do not like the taste of vinegar - take a salad or sweet red onion. Three potatoes, five eggs and a couple of small beets are cooked and grated.   • onion;
  • eggs (it is not necessary to separate into yolks and proteins);
  • beet.

All layers are smeared with mayonnaise. You can use it right away, but it’s better to keep an hour in the refrigerator.

"My general" with cheese

Another very popular option. Instead of chicken, any other meat is taken. Most often it is also boiled, but you can also bake it in the oven - they say that with baked it turns out a much more juicy salad “My General”. The recipe also includes boiled carrots. The procedure for interlinking is as follows:

  • Finely chopped meat mixed with crushed garlic and mayonnaise (all of the following layers are also smeared with mayonnaise, so we will not mention more about this stage).
  • Coarsely grated cheese, about a hundred grams.
  • Four grated steep eggs. In some versions of the recipe, eggs are recommended to be mixed with crushed walnuts. It turns out delicious, so you can use the recommendation.
  • Two cooked carrots, again grated.
  • Chips of two boiled beetroot.

It is necessary to hold this “General” salad in the refrigerator - pork and beef take juices of other ingredients for a little longer.

Dietary "General"

It can be cooked in the post, only then you need to cross off the eggs from the list and buy a lean mayonnaise. Such a General salad is traditionally layered; all but the last are smeared. The first is grated boiled potatoes, then the radish, then chopped onions (can be scalded or pickled to remove excess bitterness), followed by freshly grated carrots, apples (or sour, or sweet and sour) on top, and last - eggs. The result is a very light and very tasty salad.

An approximate ratio of components: potatoes 200 grams, radishes - 300, one small onion, carrots - one, medium, two large apples, four eggs and a tube of mayonnaise. However, the proportions can be changed "for themselves."

"Marine General"

Adaptation specifically for seafood lovers. Among other things, such a General salad is not layered - it should be mixed. Crab sticks crumble (200 gram pack; can be replaced with shrimp). Liquid is drained from canned white beans. A large tomato is chopped into cubes. This marine fantasy is being refueled just before serving; in addition to mayonnaise, crackers are also added - purchased (with the taste of onions and sour cream or cheese) or dried from white bread on their own. The taste will be especially piquant if you sprinkle them with a mixture of lemon and garlic juice when creating crackers. You can supplement the General sea salad with grated cheese, and you need to sprinkle with herbs.

Fish "General"

It turns out there is one! Like the marine version, it is not flaky - and also needs breadcrumbs. However, in such a salad "General" (recipe with photos), stores will not work. You’ll have to carefully cut a slice of “Borodino” bread, pour it with vegetable oil and dry it in the oven so that a crust forms on top, and inside the crackers remain a little soft. Grams of four hundred Peking cabbage finely chopped. Gherkins (a small, 200-gram jar) are cut into circles, two apples into cubes (immediately sprinkle with lemon to prevent darkening). A medium-sized herring, about a third of a kilogram, is freed from skin and bones and cut into small slices. For dressing, a bunch of dill is chopped as small as possible, mixed with sour cream and grain mustard (the ratio is at your discretion; if you do not really like spicy, take sweet mustard). The filling is kneaded, the salad is seasoned and decorated with it - fresh cucumbers, lemon slices and herbs. Note that this particular recipe is especially welcomed by men as a snack.

Finally, pay attention: the last two salads are served immediately, so as not to soften crackers. If you have prepared the General salad with a margin, you need to add croutons only to the part that is placed on the table.
