Guerlain perfume: a fabulous collection

Since the foundation of the design house by Pierre-Francois Guerlain in 1828, a rich collection of various aromas has been created, which, however, remained recognizable and always relevant. Guerlain perfumes include about eight hundred compositions, combined into lines and directions - Legends, Stories, Myths ... And these are not just names - every fragrance truly embodies a fairy tale. Maybe, in the end, a whole collection will be created called "A Thousand and One Nights from Guerlain"? Consider at least some of the flavors.

Guerlain Perfume

The spirits of Guerlain Shalimar (1925) were inspired by the Taj Mahal, with its fountains and gardens. The concept of the fragrance is Shah Jahan's insane, death-conquering love for his wife Mumtaz. This is the first genuinely oriental fragrance in the history of Western European perfumery. Not only the contents, but also the crystal bottle of Baccarat was a masterpiece. Jacques Guerlain combined to some extent peeled vanilla sticks to get a hint of bitterness from this substance. For the 60th anniversary of the company , an β€œupgrade” of perfume was made, and in 2004 a lighter variation of Shalimar Light appeared (author - Matilda Laurent). In 2008, a more democratic product was released - Eau de Shalimar (eau de toilette).

But in the XIX century, the family perfume house surprised the aristocratic public. Em Guerlain, the son of the founder, in 1889 created unique Guerlain Jicky perfumes from six components, which are now the classic chord inherent in all products of this brand. The great-nephew of the patriarch of the dynasty, Jacques, distinguished himself by creating a whole series of compositions that shocked the world between the First and Second World Wars: Vol de Nuit, Apres L'Ondee, Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleue. All of them are good in their own way.

Guerlain perfume

The period from 1956 to 1989 was the "golden age" for Guerlain. The last perfumer of the famous dynasty, Jean-Paul, worked very fruitfully, showing the world such wonderful compositions as Ode, Samsara, Vetiver, Eau de Guerlain, Chamade and Habit Rouge. Now the post of the chief perfumer of the company is occupied by Thierry Wasser, who continues to create according to the old canons established in the century before last. However, this does not mean that the House simply produces old and forgotten smells - every new Guerlain perfume is the embodiment of one of the images of a modern woman.

But Les Elixir Charnel is a warm, bodily balm that causes a storm of passions. Charming, sultry, intoxicating ... Only a strong-willed woman can use him. And the Aqua Allegoria line is light, like a spring moth, evokes the mood of a fresh and clear morning. Another masterpiece that made Guerlain famous is the perfume of Le Petite Robe Noire. Romantic, spectacular, a little daring, they will suit any woman who wants to attract attention, but not be intrusive. Like the notorious little black dress, this fragrance will never go out of style.

Perfume Guerlain Idylle

Since 2009, a line with frankly floral beginning, core and base was launched. Guerlain Idylle perfumes were created in the "alchemical cuisine" of Thierry Wasser, but Guerlain's handwriting is preserved here. Like an vox Dei "angelic" choir from a Bulgarian rose, white freesia, turning into a bouquet of lily of the valley, jasmine, white lily, peony and lilac. Sweet patchouli and musk set off the whole composition. In 2012, an interpretation of the classic fragrance - Idylle Duet Jasmin-Lilas. The name speaks for itself: a duet of jasmine and lilac. However, this is not just flower water - Guerlain remains true to himself: this is a complex perfume composition with musky-woody notes.
