In one of the cities of Ukraine - in Kherson - Kherson State University (KSU) is located. For a century, this educational organization has been training personnel for the country. Kherson State University is a university that attracts many applicants to Kherson and other cities of Ukraine. The university owns 3 buildings for students, of which two are 9-story and one is 5-story.

Applicants entering Kherson State University must provide primarily a paper application. When submitted, the originals are presented:
- an identity document;
- military card;
- document proving the availability of education, together with the application;
- certificates of external independent evaluation (for those who enroll on the basis of complete general secondary education).
It is worth noting that instead of a paper application, an electronic one can be filed. However, to be able to do so, certain conditions must be met. Applicants who come on the basis of a complete general secondary education and do not have:
- special conditions for participation in the competitive selection;
- quota crediting rights;
- discrepancies in name, date of birth, citizenship in the documents.
Entrance exams
At Kherson State University, entrance exams depend on the direction of preparation. Their list should be clarified before admission. For example, you can cite several specialties and the exams installed on them (in each direction 3 are provided):

- "Economy" - Ukrainian. language and literature, Ukrainian history, geography or mathematics.

- "Journalism" - Ukrainian. language and literature, Ukrainian history, a creative contest developed by Kherson State University.
Entrance exams may vary in form. Applicants who graduate from school provide certificates of external independent evaluation. In 2017, these documents are accepted for 2016 and 2017. According to the results of the interview without passing exams to the Kherson University, the following persons are admitted:
- victims of the Chernobyl disaster;
- recognized by law as combatants who defended the integrity and independence of the country, who took part in the anti-terrorist operation.
According to the results of an external independent evaluation or entrance tests, orphans, children deprived of parental care, applicants with some serious illnesses, citizens living in the territory of the anti-terrorist operation or leaving this zone after January 1, 2017 can participate in the competitive selection.
Preparatory department for Ukrainian applicants
Having knowledge gaps and an insufficient level of training, it is very difficult to enter the competition at Kherson State University. Admission sometimes ends in failure of exams. For applicants who want to increase their chances of admission, the institution has a center for pre-university training and work with foreigners. One of its units is the preparatory department for Ukrainians. It conducts classes in general subjects. On them you can improve your knowledge, understand topics that were not learned at school. Also, this department is preparing for the passage of creative entrance tests.
Classes are taught by highly qualified university teachers. Specialists provide all the necessary theoretical information, conduct repeated trainings on test tasks. Training at the preparatory department is paid. Cost is available to all segments of the population. One month of training costs 150 hryvnias.
Preparatory department for foreigners
Foreign citizens, regardless of race, nationality, or worldview, have the right to education. That is why the Kherson State University (in the center of pre-university training and work with foreigners) has a preparatory department for people coming from other countries.
The task of the unit at the university is the language training of foreigners for admission to Kherson State University (KSU). People are invited to study the Ukrainian and Russian languages, additional subjects on the chosen profile of study. For foreigners, studies at the preparatory department are also paid. The cost was previously $ 1,400 per year.
