Food Worker Day - what holiday is it?

Food Worker Day is a celebration of all professional bakers, cooks and specialists in related specialties. It is noted not only in the Russian Federation, but also in Ukraine. It is customary to celebrate it on the penultimate Sunday of October, do it annually.

Story

With almost half a century of history, this wonderful day originates in the Soviet Union. The State Duma in 1966 issued a decree approving the Day of the food industry worker . According to this decree, it was prescribed to celebrate this new professional holiday on the penultimate Sunday of October, but the most amazing thing is that this is still being done.

Further, since Russia was the absolute successor of the USSR, it was not required to take absolutely any additional decisions, documents and legal acts to preserve it.

Unfortunately, a completely different situation was in Ukraine. After the Soviet Union collapsed, Food Worker Day, like many other holidays, had to be officially accepted and re-approved. Yes, many holidays were preserved, but then their dates were postponed. This celebration is one of the rarest exceptions, because it is still celebrated on the third Sunday of the second autumn month. In 1995, Leonid Kuchma - at that time the current president of Ukraine - signed a decree on the approval of the holiday Day of the food industry worker, similar to what was adopted in the USSR.

Celebration celebration

It has long been a tradition for the authorities of the Russian Federation to congratulate workers in the food industry on their professional holiday and wish them luck in their hard and necessary work.

Many are wondering how to celebrate this day. As a rule, they do this, as you might guess, with all sorts of goodies. However, there is one feature. They, as a rule, are not prepared by the heroes of the occasion, but by their friends, relatives and close people for themselves.

The day of food industry workers in 2013 was fairly calm, there were no ordinary mass festivities with pancakes, pies, jelly and stew, which are usually held in different cities. But probably it was due to bad weather.

To congratulate your loved ones on this day, you should not buy expensive gifts or cards, it is better to make a tasty surprise with your own hands. It can be a pie, cake, or even meat, originally served and beautifully decorated, because, as real chefs say, taste is only a third of good food, the other two-thirds are the delicious smell and the way you present it.

Conclusion

Suzdal, for example, celebrated Food Industry Day 2013 with a huge barrel of mead in the square, which was poured free of charge to everyone.

The main thing is to connect your imagination and make bold decisions. And then your gift will have a chance to outshine everyone else. Be attentive to your loved ones and delight them with your favorite treat.
